Think of it this way: You brought one of those bastards down with you!

The Claymore is designed for extreme damage from a single shot. With reload cancelling its job just becomes even more pronounced.
It's more accurate than the Piranha and deals a lot more damage at any range. Less time shooting at a target is more time being situationally aware and the Claymore allows you to do immense damage without getting tunnel vision.
You one shot a lot of enemies. You save a lot of time while killing things.

It's strong, but needs perfect timing. If you screw up it punishes you by not allowing you to fire for another reload duration. It's heavy, meaning it can't be used efficiently by many classes.
If you play with a group of people who can reload cancel with no mistakes you'll be surprised at how fast things go down.

The well kept truth about the Claymore is that it has always been OP, but as it needs a moderate amount of skill to use, it appears balanced...

I don't reload cancel with it either, I never bothered to learn how to do it.

You're on pc it's fairly easy and you'll see your dps double if you do it all the time.
Just change your medigel key to something more comfortable (I use C for instance) and hit it as soon as your ammo count changes from 0 to 1
Do it a lot of times and it'll become muscle memory - you won't even have to look at the ammo count.

Burst DPS is different from sustained DPS.
For example I wouldn't use the Piranha or the Reegar on my KroSent, even though I run him with adrenline mod III everytime.
He is all about the Falon and the Claymore.
If you are using a highly mobile class and it's good at avoid taking damage, then sure sustained DPS is better.

You know you can just bind your medigel to another key that is more comfortable right?
From ingame.

Sure... buff it I guess.
If you want them to give it the Krysae treatment next week.
It 4 shots bosses? Really? What diffuculty do you play on?
i can just take down a brute, in CQC in 2 shots with my claymore X with the right attachments on my demolisher. on Gold with a Destroyer, it wrecks anything armor with my set up. so no it doesn't need anything done to it, its perfect the way it is because its a 1 shot shotgun

I have mine bound to Mouse Wheel Down, reload canceling is a breeze. (you only have 2 weapons so MW Up works fin for weapon swap)

Claymore is the heaviest shotgun in the game(tied with the crusader X but heavier at I), which would lead you to believe it's the strongest shotgun but yet it gets out DPS'ed by the Piranha, Reegar, and Wraith, even if we take reload cancelling into account(Basing this off of the browser app that displays weapon stats on N7 hub).
Reload Cancelled DPS default (no passive or attachments)
Claymore X - 668.1
Piranha X - 941.9
Reegar X - 3748.1
Wraith X - 679.2
The way i understand it, weight is supposed to be tied to weapon effectiveness making the player decide and try to find a balance of weapon and power reliance for their character yet i can have the best of both worlds by taking the other three over the claymore. I reccommend a buff in the form of faster reload cancelling and possibly damage to even up the weight/weapon effectiness balance.
it kills everything in one shot other then bosses

how about: "ignores the shield gate mechanic"
But they do take it into consideration so ignore doesnt work. If all the pellets damage doesnt do enough to knock out their shields, none of them ignore it do they? While bypass "going around" is implied for all the other pellets after the pellets that "came before" knock out its shield. I guess you could use the pellets afterwards also ignore the shield gate, but at that point there is no shield left, so no gate to ignore.

Claymore is unimpressive? This thread is a troll, right?
Instructions for optimal use of Claymore:
1) Learn to reload cancel.
2) Learn to actually hit things when you shoot.
3) Fire up Gold/Plat (it makes me sad about the enemies to kill them with it on Silver).
4) Annihilate everything in your path with it.
5) Profit. Profit everywhere.
But sure... buff it. I'd like to one-shot kill Brutes with it, definitely.
