How does a reload-cancelled Raider stack up to the Claymore?
At point blank the Raider just edges it because it's got an obscenely fast fire rate... but, you have to be at point blank. Odds are you could have killed whatever it was you were going to kill with the Claymore in the amount of time it takes you to get within effective range with the Raider.
That being said though, I love the Raider on the SI... proxy mine, run, cloak, kablatt!
Good on the Destoyer as well since you can get 3 shots before reloading.

Claymore is the heaviest shotgun in the game(tied with the crusader X but heavier at I), which would lead you to believe it's the strongest shotgun but yet it gets out DPS'ed by the Piranha, Reegar, and Wraith, even if we take reload cancelling into account(Basing this off of the browser app that displays weapon stats on N7 hub).
Reload Cancelled DPS default (no passive or attachments)
Claymore X - 668.1
Piranha X - 941.9
Reegar X - 3748.1
Wraith X - 679.2
The way i understand it, weight is supposed to be tied to weapon effectiveness making the player decide and try to find a balance of weapon and power reliance for their character yet i can have the best of both worlds by taking the other three over the claymore. I reccommend a buff in the form of faster reload cancelling and possibly damage to even up the weight/weapon effectiness balance.
I don´t care about your stupid numbers, squishy drell. I can reload-cancel two-shot brutes with the new heavy barrel. That´s all I need to know.

Sure... buff it I guess.
If you want them to give it the Krysae treatment next week.
It 4 shots bosses? Really? What diffuculty do you play on?
Gold/Platinum.
I'm one of those guys who actually uses ammo and equipment though...
So I actually know how much damage stuff can do.

It doesn't. On Gold it doesn't even one-shot mooks unless its a headshot.

Too bad you're not on PC. I would love to see a Claymore bring down a Prime, an Atlas or one of the Collector bosses from full shields to dead in four shots.

I took 6 bars of armour off a Banshee in one shot just a few hours ago. So yeah... 4 shotting bosses is very possible.

It does on the Human (+BF3) and Turian Soldiers, plus the Destroyer. It does on the Geth, male Quarian, and Volus Engineers. It does on any Infiltrator, and any Vanguard with a Weapon Synergy spec.ParatrooperSean wrote...

The numbers are fine on the Claymore, as long as you keep their meaning in mind. For instance, the Claymore's damage is distributed as a series of discrete delta functions, like a periodic impulse in classical mechanics (actually all weapons do this, but damage bursts from the Claymore are much taller and more widely spaced than anything except a Widow or Javelin). With a distribution like that, taking a mean isn't a particularly good way to represent what it can do.
Here's an analogy: if you were a biologist looking at a field where there was one old oak tree with a bunch of brush and grass, you wouldn't decide that it made sense to calculate the average height of the plants you see. A doctor in a classroom with one teacher and 20 kindergartners wouldn't find the average height or weight of the people in the room particularly helpful. There are a lot of situations where the average just isn't meaningful, and this is one of them.
