But sure... buff it. I'd like to one-shot kill Brutes with it, definitely.

Infiltrators can already do this to platinum Brutes.

Woaah, really?!  I don't play platinum, and my Claymore is at 6. Two-shotting Brutes on Gold is fine by me, but I can't wait to get it to level X and get its maximum destructive power.

I read the thread title and made a long farting sound with my mouth involuntarily. Extrapolate my response from that, OP.

I don't see why you're complaining.. I personally never use the Claymore, and it's fine the way it is.

4 shots for bosses.
1 for infantry.

Sure... buff it I guess.

If you want them to give it the Krysae treatment next week.

It 4 shots bosses? Really? What diffuculty do you play on?

Gold/Platinum.

I'm one of those guys who actually uses ammo and equipment though...
So I actually know how much damage stuff can do.

Too bad you're not on PC. I would love to see a Claymore bring down a Prime, an Atlas or one of the Collector bosses from full shields to dead in four shots.

Er I am on PC and it very much can, you just have to have the right character and loadout.  The GI for example.  The issue here isn't wether or not the claymore is OP or not. Point of fact is that it's good, just obscenely so with a Infiltrators.  It's situationally OP.  Otherwise it's just good.

to the guy you're replying to,

the human soldier with adrenaline rush can knock about 4-6 bars of armor off an atlas if you have
shotgun amp 3
shotgun amp 5 gear
AP ammo 4

if you reload cancel fast enough to be under the affect of AR, your next shot will down the atlas. it also takes 2 shots to bring down its shields

2+2=4. boom. dead. claymore wins.

I like to pop the claymore on my level 1's and use it to level them up. Its kind of fun knowing you can shame most pug level 20's with a level 1.

A little late to the party, so it has probably been said by now, but since this is literally my favorite gun we are talking about here, I feel compelled to throw in my two cents.

The Reegar literally has finite range. It is only useful on a class that can get into what is essentially melee range.

The Piranha has atrocious spread and is mediocre at best on anything other than a Turian Soldier, Destroyer or Geth Infiltrator with their accuracy bonuses reigning the pellets into the territory of a mid-range spread, Without all those pellets hitting the target you will see drastic drop in DPS.

The Wraith is ultra rare. Getting it to that high of a level is near impossible. Hell, getting it to level 3 is out of the question for a vast majority of the player base. For the record, mine is level 4 and it is tied with my highest level ultra rare (not counting the promotional weapons).

Now that we have the shotguns with a higher DPS out of the way, now to focus on the Claymore itself. It is pretty damn accurate on its own. Combine it with a Turian Soldier using Marksman and the spread will be so reduced that it will all hit at the same exact spot like a slug, allowing you to literally snipe with it. Seriously, I go up in the control room on Giant and snipe enemies coming from the extraction area.

Wow. I didn't think I'd ever see this thread.

Ok, the Pirahna is great, but only at short range.
The Wraith is Ultra-Rare, so very few people even have it at level 2 or 3, if at all.
The Reegar is extremely short range and personally, I tend to drop like a fly when I try to use it. Needing to be in melee range of banshees and Praetorians to use my weapon doesn't appeal to me.

Add a smart choke and the Marksman and it is a scopeless SR, only with pellets, it bypasses shield gate. Without marksman or similar, it is still great at mid range, and nothing to sneeze at at long range. Or skip the smart choke to make it even more devastating at short range and still decent at mid.

Personally, I always use the choke. With that, its the only shotgun besides the crusader where I don't feel compelled to bring a pistol/SR for use at long range. That means either better cooldown, or a second devastating weapon if I don't need cooldown.

Well, I always thought the Claymore was duff, too heavy and takes too long to load.

But having read this thread .......... Must learn to reload cancel...... I'm on a mission.

Thanks guys!

Well, I had a go with it. Bashed every button on the PS3 controller, and just can't do it. So in my eyes the Claymore IS duff!! :crying:

Wut? It one shots every mook in the game. It does not need a buff.

Several weapons one shot every mook in the game (or at least if you put good ammo and bufs on them...who would use a claymore without bufs?).

That's a really arbitrary requirement. Part of the Claymore's attraction is that the massive single shot packs the cumulative effect of all your buffs into a short time interval.

That is, using Proximity Mine or Hunter Mode or whatever might have the same proportional impact on the bottom-line DPS of a Revenant as a Claymore, but it all gets scrunched up into a single Claymore shot.
