As the title says ME3 causes my entire computer to freeze up and I can't do anything I have to force a reset.

This only happens with ME3 and no other game.

List of games I've played since reinstalling 2 weeks ago:

Borderlands 2
Xcom
Guild wars 2
Mass effect 3
Kings bounty
Carrier command

Only happens in mass effect!

Edit: I have the most up-to-date drives. it's not that and my computer is well above reccomanded specs.

Geforce GTX 570
AMD  Phenom II X4 940
4 Gig of ram

What do you mean with "since reinstalling"? Did you reinstall your entire OS or the games themselves? Because I reinstalled my OS also quite a while ago and had the same issues as you but it never happened again after I installed all Win7 updates again.

This might be a PsyX issue; or a DirectX thing; or VC++; some strong antivirus software might be involed; or specific OS related. ME3 crashed a few times on my Win7 64Bit but it happens very rarely. On the other machine I play - with Win XP - the game never crashed.

But the OS freezing and manual hard reseting - that's an indication that something is very wrong; it's inlikely that ME3 is the source of the problem.

I've run everytest I can think of and there is NOTHING wrong with my computer, yet the freezes contiune. I pumped my graphics card up to hit 100c and it was absoloutley fine.

change your mouse /keyboard over for a game and see if it "relieves the problem

try swapping the usb ports first if you dont have access to spares, check the windows error log to see if its recording any actual problems oh and check your power management settings

last time i had major problems like that it was a mouse that was on its way out :)
