A: While i do play Gold regularly i don't feel like I'm good enough to teach someone
B: I would have no idea how to teach someone how to play...Plus I feel like people wouldn't appreciate being told what to do.
But I support this thread!

Anyways, I wouldn't mind helping people out. I'd be glad to teach just about anything you would like to learn. Whether you want to learn more about explosions (biotic or any tech), spawns mechanics, an individual character (there are still a couple I am not the best with mind you such as the Slayer), or get advice on loadouts I am more than willing to help.
I will ask that you have a mic if possible since these things are easiest to explain in game. I am also willing to duo any difficulty except Platinum in order to explain better. I will say that I am a "rambo" style player, sitting in one position without players that know how to focus fire and bring the biggest threat down quickly will only end bad for everyone, so I hit the enemies before they can hit me.
Gamertag is SlimJim0725, play on Xbox. Send me a message on there and when I am available I will try to get to people. My friends list is full at the moment, so a message (prefer text) is the easiest way for me to get you in a game.

The real problem isn't finding people on the Forums willing to help (I'd help BTW) but finding people on the forums that need help.
Not true, the problem is finding people on the forums willing to listen. Too many people on this forum seem to think they know a lot about the game and refuse to believe anything else someone else post. After all the time I have put into this game, there are still possibly a few things I could learn (not many mind you). The difference is that I am always willing to accept good advice or information from someone who has proven themselves (such as an Ashen Earth, AreleX, Relix, etc).

If you play Gold regularly and don't feel you can teach, you would probably make a good "assistant" to someone teaching. Explaining things can be somewhat difficult in the middle of a fight, especially if they decide to take on a match with randoms.

Define "rookie". I usually play Gold with general success but I've never been able to past wave 3 of platinum. Does that mean I'm average?

People get better very quickly with good examples/a little protection.
Edit: Forgot to say, I'm down for this. I'm on PS3 and I have a mic, but it makes me sound like a 10 yr old boy.
My PSN is loli_sykes.

Well guys, I tried. It seems as if this thread is being ignored in the forum lol. Maybe I should have posted something more controversial/troll-worthy?
It's not that it's a bad idea it's just that no one wants to put in the effort to train newbs in a video game on a video game forum. It seems like work for a game that's supposed to be fun. Also how do we help out the truly bad players who don't post here? Most forumites should be able to help themselves with all the guides and whatnot around these parts. Also I help in a myriad of ways with the boards offering suggestions as do others. But to actually handhold someone? That's something else entirely.
/firstworldproblems
not really but i understand what you are saying.
teaching should be easy.
1 discuss builds and what works well etc in the lobby
2 teacher dies straight away and watches pupils (lol)
gives tips about the scenarios they are in and advice on bettering there play style.
3 points out weaknesses in enemies, spawn points, weak points, tactics
simples
Yes but anyone who wants to graduate to Gold should already know these things. I would only train the very weak. Like people who struggle with Bronze.
I would do it if people needed help with Bronze or think they are ready for Silver and not sure yet.

I could totally use some help. I've always played bronze and I pretty much always top there without much problem. Lately I've been doing Silver and it's been a little tough but I've been handling it. I've been using the N7 Paladin lately and playing pretty aggressively which I know won't fly on higher difficulties. I'd love some help on how to work up to gold and plat. I can't believe that some people can do it solo.

Feel free to add me (PSN ID: WhiteMage83) and we can discuss (and implement) tips and strategies for silver and beyond.

dont feel bad, all of us have been there, me and my freinds used to play FB London reapers platnuim reguarly just because we wanted the hardest challenge we could get ever. and we genrally survived, and yet I still had trouble adjusting my reflexes when I first started playing silver as well. I wouldnt feel discouraged at all if I were you.hostaman wrote...

Back to this topic, I'm totally down for this, I try and help anyone who is lower than me. And I love to teach them as well, I know this game like the back of my hand and could probaly recite the defintions of most weapons and certianly give you the list of everything's powers. pratically an encyclopedia. And if I do say so, this makes for a very good teacher in this game when you can auto-recall the power and weapon someone is talking about and it's usefulness )Most experinced players also have this little encyclopedia, but just saying it makes for a good teacher). And I am completly 100% on board for this idea, I've actually already got 1 or 2 people recently asking me for help and tips on how to play, I play with one of them regularly now.
Also, I am also one of the mythical PS3 players, we may not be to active on this fourm but I am. I've also got a mic! and I think the pretty team freindly area of PS3 is a good place to teach some rookies! I'm all for it!
