It really isn't. I've played both, and noticed a difference in difficulty. Perhaps other posters will concur.

By your reckoning banners should only be attainable by, what, the top 0.2% of players?

If this is true, ide hate to see that "actual" platinum. Solid Banshees, Atlases, Phantoms, Scions, Praetorians, and Primes, spawning like troopers in bronze.

I've done platinum solo quite a few times before the DLC arrived. I have plans to go against the collectors and show them who's game it is. I actually find platinum easier doing solo rather than multiplayer. This is because you do your own thing. You don't have to run around reviving or going out your way to help a fat chubby volus beat a prime down.

Good excuse. I too had solo'ed platinum 500 times before anyone could actually check to see if I was telling the truth. Just haven't felt like it lately....

 nah.  solo bronze is plenty challenging.  you have to ply smart and careful, you cant just rmbo in like you do with a team, all attention is on you, not split.  braggers gonna brag.....  but i suppose thats why its called brgging rights.  anyway, to my understanding, solo platinum in some ways is easier than solo gold....  too many boss units, not  lot of troopers to pester your shields and health at range.  still havent soloed gold....  havent done silver since before retallition.  just have been busy with other things too much to invesg time and credits in any serious gold attempts.  only ever gave it a few serious tries before.  just too long, too much kiting.... i get bored hahah

That is exactly what it means.  Saying that Gold is Bronze can be stated mathematically as Gold = Bronze, which then implies Bronze = Gold.

Thus, this user finds gold as easy as bronze, and bronze as difficult as gold.  HEADS WILL ESPLODED!!!

It's suppose to be a challenge.. EVERY challenge bioware have given us has been REALLY easy. Take the weekend challenges for example... Extract on bronze. Week 2: Extract on silver difficulty using missile glitch. Week 3: Extract on bronze using a squad of missile glitchers. Week 4: Play one game of bronze and quit at wave 2 using asari justicar. You get the point.
