Why, exactly, does it matter?
Having the banner at all (assuming you weren't glitching, which most probably didn't), indicates you were AT LEAST able to solo gold, twice for consistency.
It's a good enough indicator of skill. If someone in the lobby has one on, you know they are at least competent and above average.
Got into a lobby right under somebody else with the lonewolf banner. I felt very awkward. His Paladin and my Human Adept. Game was too easy.

I wanted the Lone Wolf banner till I seen it. I thought it was going to have a Lone Wolf on it, not just a picture of Shepard lol. I'm happy with my Collector General banner.
