The boss part is referenced in the novels which isn't a spoiler at this point, and this was leaked as a minor 3-D image months ago. People speculating Cortana's death is another thing. I'm not spoiling it. Two things were known and the other is pure speculation, which I confirmed to be unconfirmed.

Defiantly Cortana, EDI was cool and all, but she felt more like a stereotypical AI. Cortana on the other hand seemed more human, although the lack of a physical body might cause some....problems

There is no confirmation of her dying. The only confirmation there was is Didact being the main antagonist and a massive chance he will be the final boss. It is referenced in the novels. Funny enough, Halo's lore is much tighter compared to an RPG which should have tighter lore.
