By a lot of people here--yes. Gotta get competitive about something.

By most here, forgetting everyone tends to start out somewhere, I'd say yes. Sadly.

People tend to forget their roots.

Not by me, if that is what you want to play / what you are comfortable with, more power to you.

Depends on who you ask, but a lot of people on here look down on them.

Yes. Bronze is too easy. I don't look down on silver players, since I enjoy Silver and there's still a sense of difficulty to some extent, but Bronze is just... yeah...

I feel the same way, and im more of a silver player, but i will play gold with a full squad. Platinum is a little too stressful for me, but the payoff is quite nice.

From my perspective, only if they try to discuss balance. otherwise, whatever.

Everyone starts at Bronze, but everyone should grow out of it pretty quick. Even when you start getting your first rares, it becomes ridiculously easy.

only if you are STILL a bronze player. however, if you never intend to move up or if you simply are that bad, yes, you are looked down upon. in the other case, it's just the natural process of starting small and getting better at something.

Depends on why they play bronze.  Totally fine reasons:
-I'm just a casual player and enjoy bronze.
-I like to be super-powered in games.
-I'm just starting out.
-I'm leveling a character or trying out a new build.

Looked down upon reasons:
-OMFG game is too hard for everyone, all enemies cheat, BW sucks, everything needs a buff and enemies need to be nerfed!!!

Basically, I look down on people who think the reason they are in bronze is because of some external locus of control rather than their own characteristics or choices.  To elaborate, I don't look down on people based on how good or bad they are at playing a video game, but I do look down on people who are whiny, entitled, brats.  ;)

unless, for whatever reason, you got collectors. I'm a Silver/Gold player and i dropped down to do a bronze match for some quick 15k credits needed for a PSP was suprised by that amount of fight collectors had on bronze.

If that's the best they can do, then I'm glad they're staying out of the higher difficulties. Not because I can't handle having an effective decoy, but because it's nice to know some players know they can't handle higher difficulties, and don't choose to risk compromising their team's effectiveness anyway. They wait until it's their time to ascend, and then they do so gradually. And I appreciate having an experienced Bronze player on my team more than an inexperienced Gold player.

(I'll never make this not sound like an epeen stroke...)

People assume too much. I stick mostly to Bronze because I don't like the higher stress of playing at higher difficulty levels. But, I've held my own in quite a lot of Silver and Gold matches. And played a couple of Platinums to extraction. Look down all you want, last I looked I was in the top 1 percent of PS3 players on the N7 Leaderboard and top 2 in the challenges.

On here you are looked down upon unless you can solo platinum with a Volus. I don't we all started in bronze. I look down more on players who play difficulties they aren't prepared for ie n7s of 20 hosting gold and platinum matches.

I look down on those bronze players that should really be playing a higher difficulty, I cannot comprehend people who refuse a risk free challenge.

Relax, OP. I haven't played MP in ages, so I'm going to have to start on Bronze again. Even at my peak, I think I only ever finished a Gold match once (and that was because my friends didn't suck as hard as I did).

If you're worried about getting flak, just do private matches and play with your friends. There are plenty of nice* people on the BSN who'd be willing to add you on Origin.

*As this is the BSN, I only mean "nice" in a very, very relative sense.

I don't mind if they are just new people adjusting to this game, but if you KNOW you should be playing Bronze and you join Gold or above, yes, it does really get me angry.

I was playing a Gold match on Rio and a player asked me what the white thing on the back of his character was. After the game was over (We wiped on 9), he had an 8 N7 level, while using a Predator I with a soldier. He was literally brand new to the game, that game was his first ever. He told me he wanted a challenge so he joined Gold ON PURPOSE. He scored about 4000 points. If I may add, he joined on Wave 5.
