I am sorry, I should of said "consider quitting online games all together". Singleplayer? who cares, but you shouldn't do the disservice of EVER having to subject anyone to your incompetence if you have a hard time playing something above Bronze on a regular basis.
The Power Glove dude from The Wizard comes to mind.

This, I heartily agree. Don't go out of Bronze until you know, not you think, you are ready.Titus Thongger wrote...
nothing wrong with bronze.
what is wrong though is people who should really be on bronze leaching off better players on gold

i have to disagree, with the lack of bosses in bronze you can never be truly 100% prepared for silver. the fact is you face 4 bosses all game and on silver you face 4 bosses on individual waves sometimes. i do think that there is a significant jump from bronze to silver and its a leap of faith, just dive in. however dont go from bronze to gold.Lynx7725 wrote...

Does never using the Shift key relieve stress for you? I guess it must because I haven't seen you make a single post that wasn't half-assed.alhamel94 wrote...

There is a difference being good enough for Silver but not experienced enough, and totally not ready. You can have the prep to go Silver but not do well and the Silverites probably won't worrry about it -- it's easy to tell when someone is trying and just having a bad time, and someone who is clueless and in over their heads. Heck it's easy to tell that on Bronze. It's just that it's more acceptable to be clueless on Bronze.alhamel94 wrote..

so pray tell how to you formulate this magical distinction between knowing you are ready and thinking you are ready? how can you truly know if you are ready until you give it a go?Lynx7725 wrote...

Do you want to know what my idea of not fun is?
Unload a whole clip into an enemy. Reload... Unload a whole clip into an enemy. Reload.. Unload a whole clip into an enemy.. Have someone melee the enemy I just pumped three whole clips into, and I get an assist.
I don't care that I got an assist.. I do care that I just emptied three clips into an enemy without the satisfaction of killing it.

Why? The points you receive are proportional to the damage you did to it. So even though you get an assist, you'll get more points from than the person who got the kill.

but if I see someone who may not have very high level gear but rocks equipment, sticks with the team, does not go down all that much, revives when needed, finishes objectives, and looks like they have a fair grasp of situational awareness, I know they are genuinely trying even if their score is not all that great. in a PuG, to me that is more than what i hope for.

But the whole point is that I shouldn't have to use my whole ammo loadout to kill one enemy.
edit: and in some cases have to run out to an ammo box so I can finish it off... .Scion or Pretorian.

Wow you asked that question like it only happened once. It's every game.. It doesn't matter what the class is.
Edit: Let me rephrase that.. It's multiple classes with different weapons... And I have no idea who the melee characters are.. Some Asari.. Some Krogen, Some Humans.. It doesn't matter.

This.
Though I will admit to occasionally being guilty of cleaning up enemies, especially while working on the Pistol Mastery Challenge. I got stupid good with headshots and didn't really have to try to the point that I'd nuke spawns with my Predator the pick off stragglers others were whittling down. Sometimes I'd say, "Oh, I'd let that person deal with it, the enemy is almost dead" and sometimes they'd be fine and then I'd move on and suddenly "Ally hurt!" and then I bring out the mop to clean up the puddle of Ravager goo they found themselves in after meleeing the husked rachni.

like it's been said - if you should be playing bronze and join higher difficulties it's frustrating, just like i imagine it's frustrating when i'm doing bronze (for whatever reason, new character, just promoted class, etc intended to run solo to try something out but accidentally set public, or just need a super quick 15k credits.) to people who find bronze a good fun challenge.

Because basic grammar shouldn't be so damn tough. It really isn't too much too ask to bother with capitalization and punctuation. You ain't ee cummings, buddy.

Oh no, I understand what you're trying to say and for the most part I agree. I'm just talking about the whole kill/assist point mechanic.
I understand why people prefer seeing kills too. In hockey and assist and a goal are worth the same, but people with more goals in their stats are slightly better regarded and more famous than someone with the same number of assists.

Yes I could put on an overpowered class such as the Kroguard with the Reegar and play Gold successfully. But I really do not have fun with that class.. And everyone complains about it in lobby.
