Relax, OP. I haven't played MP in ages, so I'm going to have to start on Bronze again. Even at my peak, I think I only ever finished a Gold match once (and that was because my friends didn't suck as hard as I did).

If you're worried about getting flak, just do private matches and play with your friends. There are plenty of nice* people on the BSN who'd be willing to add you on Origin.

*As this is the BSN, I only mean "nice" in a very, very relative sense.

I wasnt judging anyone at all, i was just curious how everyone felt is all.

This. Its always facepalm worthy when people in balance topics write a response to someone by saying "I mostly play Bronze/Silver and..."

Otherwise who cares. Fun is fun regardless of what you are playing.

The ones who look down on people in a game are mostlly sad gits who can ONLY do it in a virtual world, they would never act like that to peoples faces, so i say let them, its all they have, special little people. couldnt care less if a n7 1 joins a gold match i am in, i wont kick them, if i cant be bothered carrying them i will leave

People assume too much. I stick mostly to Bronze because I don't like the higher stress of playing at higher difficulty levels. But, I've held my own in quite a lot of Silver and Gold matches. And played a couple of Platinums to extraction. Look down all you want, last I looked I was in the top 1 percent of PS3 players on the N7 Leaderboard and top 2 in the challenges.

N7 rank means virtually nothing beyond 120, and Challenge Points (although more reliable than N7 rank) are not a reliable indicator of player skill. It's more of a grind than anything.

There are players below me on the leaderboard that are much better than I am, just as there are players above me on the leaderboard that aren't as good.

A lot of people play Bronze because they're casual gamers and they don't like dying/getting raped by AIs.
Besides, Gold and Platinum can be ridiculously and uneccessarily stressful sometimes, especially with PUGs! I personally don't find enjoyment with the higher difficulties, since there's a fine line between challenging and overkill. I like realistic gameplay, which is why I stick to Silver and, every now and then, Bronze.
Just play the game how you want to play it and don't worry about what people think

I often like playing Bronze. Guns feel like they actually do something, no stress, good fur trying new builds/weapons...just having fun. I've actually encountered many good team players on bronze, and zero glitchers. Silver is where I'm usually at, but bronze is sometimes just fun.

I remember when bronze was too hard for me. I never liked fast-paced multiplaying and I'm probably getting old, but still, ME3 MP is not easy. Usually in a MP game, the lowest diiculty setting is ridiculously easy. In MP3, especially with the collectors, a simple bronze game can turn out to be a battle sometimes.

I won't look down on anyone who plays game X with difficulty setting Y. Why would I. The settings are there for a reason.

(reminder: don't vote-kick someone who's N12 ON BRONZE and doesn't know GPS can't use the AP mod. not everyone visit these forums often, and the game itself does not explain these things. I've seen people voting for a kick many times in my lobbies where someone who is obviously just starting out has a funny equipment. come on people now.)

Bronze Now: cake. Great place to start for new players and for promoting level 1 characters.

Bronze Demo-Days: holy crap... Cutting your teeth on DemoBronze was tough. We won't speak of DemoGold... Bad memories of wiping out in wave 1.

I have no problem with Bronze players, as long as they know their limits.

Bronze is the difficulty designed to be so easy that a group of level 1 characters with rank 1 common weapons and no mods can beat it and just face a moderate challenge. It's a fine place to be if you're a more casual player, and don't particularly feel like you want the challenge of higher difficulties.

Beat me to it.

A Bronze player has nothing meaningful to contribute to a balance discussion. See my second paragraph for why.

In my case, and I know this is true for other players, they have other more pressing things that frequently take up their time, so they might have to run away and leave the game for a quick minute, or they might be distracted but still are capable of multitasking to some extent, something that gets pretty damn impossible on higher difficulties, especially with the faster execution rates and the murder sight that the enemy sometimes has for idle players. As well you might not really want to have to explain to people that you might disappear for a tick only to come back and ramp up through the scoreboard; you might not even want to--or be able to--use a mic, something virtually essential for higher difficulties.

There's also the factor of unreliable PUGs where despite your distractions you end up carrying the team, something positively dreadful on higher difficulties especially versus Collectors considering
how spam-happy the Scions, are possessed or no.

That being said, if I have no prior engagements and I'm with friends or a reliable carryover PUG, I'll bump it up to Silver or Gold. Unless they insist on FBW/G/G then they can fvck right off. There's only so much tedium you can take.

I don't look down on bronze players but a lot of other people do. If I see someone with a very low N7 on Gold I tell them to go back to bronze and silver. I never understood why people who clearly know they should be playing bronze try to play gold or platinum.

Only when they play gold.

Really though, if any bronze players would like to learn how to play silver i'm sure there are plenty here who can walk you through it. If there are any ps3 players who want to, once I get those waves ground out for the blood pack banner, i'd be glad to help.

Say whaat?

That... Makes no sense... Unless offcourse these people are not allowed a fun game and/or you are unable to comprehend the concept of subjective and relative experience/difficulty.

Yes, generally.

Personally, it's the opposite to me; I respect them. They don't make a huge stink out of credit earning just because they can't or don't want to play gold. They just have fun.

No, I don't look down on Bronze players. I've met a few self-declared Bronze and Silver players in PuGs. I've got talking to some of those people during/after games and on a few occasions, these Bronze/Silver players just needed a bit of a confidence boost to try out and succeed in higher difficulties. I've learned a lot from other people on my journey from only Bronze to Platinum and I try and pass that on to others constructively (where appropriate).

It's easy to be dismissive of people who are new to the game, or don't seem to understand the mechanics or don't seem to know what to do. It's a little more difficult, but actually more fun, to try and help them out. Example from today: I asked a random player to walk with the objective drone rather than stay sniping/dying on the other side of the map; they honestly had no clue that the drone would move faster with all of us together.

Oy. Grind is right. Got the Gun Slinger one last ni-er, this morning. If nothing else, I know I can snipe Scions from across the map with a Predator.

It does if you read it properly. Do you really think someone who only plays Bronze has a good idea of which weapons or classes are under or over powered for Gold level play? No. Exactly. The game is (or was) balanced around Gold.

For example you can throw a Cluster Grenade and pretty much wipe out anything on Bronze. A Bronze player could potentially see that as over powered and say it should be nerfed, not realising that Cluster Grenades are balanced properly on Gold already.

I didn't know people cared either way. I figured the issue is when players don't know which difficulty they should be in.

You play Bronze when you are : A beginner, Just promoted character, testing out a new build, getting a feel of a new weapon, practice advanced game mechanics (reload cancel, quick scope, sprinting during Pizza delivery, Biotic charge / Havoc strike & dodge to prevent sync kill) , understanding the enemy, to get achievements (Predator pistol, Avenger rifle, solo bronze)..

I only look down on Bronze players when they come to silver / gold games with their Novaguard and crappy weapons & expect to breeze through it...
