Looking down on someone because they may play a lower difficulty in a videogame is pathethic.

Here's the thing about Gold/Platinum. Basic Strategy that is used by anyone who is good at gold and Platinum. Nuke the spawns at the beginning of the rounds. Run around the map and take a couple pt shots at an enemy and run away and hide for a few seconds. Run back out take a couple more pot shots and run away again.
That is not my idea of fun. That is why I play Bronze/Silver. I can run head long into enemies and just murder them all. I don't have to run away with my tail between my legs because I'm afraid of going down.
Who are YOU listening to??
Nuking spawn points means you lob a nade in there and open fire, everything dies.
And CAMPERS take pot shots and hide. NOT players.
The typical strategy for gold? Work as a team and eliminate the enemy. NOT camping.
I wasn't talking about nades.. I was talking about using your missile launcher.
Every Gold match I have tried to play was played this way by everyone in the match. And most of the youtube videos I have seen with people playing Gold/Platinum have been doing this as well.
It's just my observation. I've never been in a Gold match where people are actually running around killing rambo style. Everyone is running away from the enemies more than they are fighting the enemies.
You should keep watching youtube vids then because alot of the ones I have seen are teams moving around killing the enemies in a controlled and consistent manner.

Awkward moment...
Bronze lobby with a level 5, level 18, and level 12 all under N7 100 and level IV or less weapons, maybe a rare thrown in. Suddenly, a level 20 N7 400 shows up with UR X weapons, Level IV ammo, Level V gear, and immediately checks the ready green state. I have yet to see a PUG game not simply freeze in time for 5 minutes due to the other players going "OMG WTF do we just watch him play and that's it?"
show me a n7 hq that has n7 400 with UR X weapons, and level IV ammo, and level V gear.
take away promotions and my n7 is 477, this is my manifest http://social.biowar...94&platform=ps3 and remember that my only 2 incendieary IV and power amp IV came in victory packs.
i understand what you mean but your n7 number you picked is waaaaaay too low

I don't look down on Bronze players. Everyone has their comfort zone and I admire people who don't overreach their capabilities.

Not really. Very common to find N7 120 scores with maxed out manifest. These are people who have played since day 1. They just don't promote unless a weekend operation requires they do so, and even then, they groan about it.

This is all good and dandy for those wanting to do so, and encouraging others to do so is fine, but when people start trying to force it (which is often the case when it comes to these forums), its crossing the line. The world (video games even) needs those willing to push their own limits. But that doesnt mean everyone should.
Also, please dont make an argument about what is fun and what isnt. Fun is subjective.

I really hope you learn to read before commenting. Not everyone needs to push their limits. Do you go telling someone with a disease that causes brittle bones out to exercise? No. Pushing someones limits is a personal choice, trying to make others to do so is taking away someones freedom. They are the ones that should make the choice, not someone else. There are people like you, who strive to better themselves, and thats great. But there are also people who are contempt with what they do and who they are.

Perhaps the whole "this is a game" concept escapes you?
Trying to compare people taking it easy on a game with real life is a bit silly.

yes its a thing called physically therapy and only incredibly strong will can do and it is very admirable, if they dont then why bother with anything? you have to push your limits. otherwise you are just weakFather Giliam wrote...

how is it silly to establish good tendencies in every day things? if people are lazy and dont want a challenge, how does that not relate to real life? im really sick of the whole its a game arguement it is flawed in its very essenceSinapus wrote...

Sorry, should have rephrased that. Lets go with someone who has a diesease with brittle bones, and you go force them into a full contact sport. Not a wise descion. Also, just because something is very admirable, doesnt make it the only way to do things. As ive stated before, the world needs those willing to push their limits, this however does not mean everyone should. You can call those people weak and frown upon them, but that doesnt help the world either. Get on with your life, and stop trying to make others live a way they dont want to.
And honestly, regarding the above statement, im suprised how this argument turned out from talking about a video game to how people should live their lives. Ill say this, hes correct. This is a game, dont take it so seriously. If you want to push yourself go ahead.
Also, just because someone doesnt push theirself in a video game doesnt mean they wont push themselves in the real world. Some people play games to relieve stress, and trying stuff thats harder for them is not a good way to do so.

It's not that I can't play the higher difficulties, I just choose not to for personal reasons. I know people are going to look down on me for doing so, but I could honestly care less. I'm having fun and that's all that matters to me, haha.
