I really hope you learn to read before commenting. Not everyone needs to push their limits. Do you go telling someone with a disease that causes brittle bones out to exercise?

yes its a thing called physically therapy and only incredibly strong will can do and it is very admirable, if they dont then why bother with anything? you have to push your limits. otherwise you are just weak

Sorry, should have rephrased that. Lets go with someone who has a diesease with brittle bones, and you go force them into a full contact sport. Not a wise descion. Also, just because something is very admirable, doesnt make it the only way to do things. As ive stated before, the world needs those willing to push their limits, this however does not mean everyone should.

im pretty sure im not forcing somone into a "full contact sport" im saying try hard learn and then play the game for a more rewarding.
why does the world need those who do not push their limits? if everyone did imagine what we could accomplish

Only when they bring up balance...or when they start bragging...or when they bring up things they don't have the experience to comment on.

Thats the thing. Some people dont want to do that, because they dont find it fun, or its not the reason they play the game. For some, a challenge in a game isnt all that fun when trying to relieve stress. I like to socialize over a nice an easy game, I dont have to focus my attention on the game, can relax after a long day, and chat to other people. Sure there are other mediums to do this, but I enjoy it. I could also socialize in real life, and I do, but most of my good friends went out of state for college, leaving a few left here. The rest of the other people I know tend to people I dont exactly get along with, so I dont want to force contact with them.

And, I never stated the world needs people that dont push themselves. However, that doesnt mean people have to push themselves. People are free to live as they see fit.

Perhaps the whole "this is a game" concept escapes you?

Trying to compare people taking it easy on a game with real life is a bit silly.

how is it silly to establish good tendencies in every day things? if people are lazy and dont want a challenge, how does that not relate to real life? im really sick of the whole its a game arguement it is flawed in its very essence

Pointing out that a game is a game is flawed in its very essence?

Oh well. No point in bothering further with you.

Anyone who would actually looks down on someone 4 simply playing bronze is stupid. Not everyone here has the time to play as much as the rest of us, this game is supposed 2 be fun at the end of the day and if people have the most fun playing bronze thats up to them

The Legion of Tryhards (which consist of at least 99% of these forums) look down upon people who play on Bronze.

people are free to live their lives but it that a good excuse for not doing the very best you can? no it is not, it is pure laziness and my hope is that people can be better than this

Not by me personally. I still bronze when I want to do something stupid (Solo with L1 Voldept using the typhoon was HILARIOUS) or I want an easy, stress-free match or I have a class in the single digits that needs levelling.

Now, we shouldn't look down on someone for how they decide to play, so long as it is entertaining and enjoyable for their difficulty cohort to play with him. I'd sooner look down on someone who farms platinum or gold only because he wants the credits to unlock items rather than because it is fun and challenging for him.

no that arguement has no validity because regardless of whether someone is playing a game or going to their job there is still a person performing the action. and there is no reason to not do your very best in everything you do. things arent worth doing if you dont do them to the best of your ability

Yes it would be nice if everyone did push themselves to be better, but you should not hold any resentment for those that choose not to. But honestly ill say this. This went from video games to views on life, and they dont mix well. Video games should not influence your life in any great amount, so theres nothing wrong with being "lazy" in a video game. It doesnt affect themself (usually) or others around them. Actually, more often then not, its the people that take the game too seriously and try to keep pushing themselves that have their lives affected by a game on a larger scale, usually for the worse.

I don't get why people would look down on others for playing a difficulty that they are comfortable with. I mean it's not like they're intruding upon your gold/platinum games so what's the problem?

I remember one time I accidentally joined a game in Rio on Bronze and it was my first time playing on Rio. I just walked around enjoying the scenery and killing things occasionally. It was very relaxing.

Not by all, anyway.  I, for one, play this game to relax, and have fun.  I have no need to prove my e-peen to anyone.  There are those who confuse Bronze Players with either noobs or jacktastic players.  Noobs just need to learn, but jacktastic ... well, there's no cure for that, though they aren't limited to Bronze.  I think the real problem are the jacktastic players who are vocal about looking down on "Bronzeys" so that they have a chance to feel superior to *someone* in their lives.

Stop trying to say its a flawed argument, when yours is the one that is flawed. Its highly unlikely that because someone in a video game is being "lazy" they will be "lazy" in life. This kind of generalization is idiotic. If they affect your life to such a degree, stop playing them. Video games were designed for the enjoyment of the consumer, and with fun being subjective, you can not say a person should play it a certain way. When you do, you make yourself look arrogant.

i am not arrogant, i am realistic and dont wear rose colored glasses, i am not generalizing i am saying that you cant say "but its just a game" because it isnt just a game it is a person actively not doing the best they can and holding themself back.

If they are looked down upon, they shouldn't be. Their purchase of the game contributes to the overall success and continued support of this franchise.

being in your comfort zone is never what you should ever strive for. for example if you are a poor public speaker dont just never speak in public, try different things and eventually get there. if an athlete exercises they dont stop when they get tired that would accomplish nothing, pushing your limits is the only way to ever expand your horizons ever. my whole life i was content to just play on the easiest difficulty and do it, but then i played diablo III and realized that the reason games get boring is because of a lack of challenge. after that i decided to watch youtube videos and be a better gamer in just about everything from starcraft to mass effect, to borderlands. it is so much more rewarding not knowing if you will succeed, and prevailing. challenge and difficulty is the 1 thing that drives the very greatest the most. scientific discoveries dont happen because people stay in their comfort zone. the most admirable thing is a person that wants to psh their limits, not one that is satisfied with "not oveeraching their capabilities" in fact that is not an admirable trait at all.

sorry, alhamel94, you seem to be confusing a video game with real life.

I suppose it is all about N7 levels and weapons. N7 1's joining platinum games tends to annoy the hell out of me not because i think they are a bad player but because i know for a fact they do not have platinum worthy weapons and equipment. I would be happy to see those players playing bronze because they need to be there simple as that. I personally waited till N7 400 before moving to silver then around 600 to gold and didn't even start platinum untill 900 when it came out. Like most people here i tested it then realised Avenger vs gold is a very very bad idea. lol

I do not look down apon bronze players i respect the potential for a future teammate worthy of watching my back in a platinum match but until they are able to do so i think the best place for them is bronze or silver. Unless i think they are capable of holding their own then i will not even stay with the match it is too much of a waste of resources and time.

this arguement again huh and who is playing that game? a person in real life that is actively holding themselves back.
