Absolutely. I get so much grief for my signature even though all it means is that I prefer to play MP casually and not care about failing or other player's abilities. I don't even play Bronze very much, pretty much just to level up my newly promoted characters.

(anyone above that had their equipment pulled back).

I thought it was a complete inventory reset? Or is that what you meant?

I was told it was a wipe and it was brutal, so basically yeah.

I'm a 500+ (closer to 600 now, I believe) N7 ratings who plays Bronze. I don't want to go hard all the time, and I like to mess with builds in Bronze as well. I also have friends who prefer Bronze, and I kowtow to them because of their awesomeness. That, and they're not "SERIOUS MLG PRO SHOOTER BEAST DAWG" players, and thoroughly enjoy that about them.

If you look down upon me for that, well...kiss my ass.

I don't mind a level 1-10 person playing on bronze at all.
But playing with a level 20 character on bronze seriously makes some people look pathetic.

Depends for me if you play Bronze like a pro and talk down to other because they aren't as good as you then you are a ****** that needs to learn to play. If you are starting out or really can't play pass bronze that's fine you know your limitations and you are having fun. That's what the game is for.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Unfortunetly people forget how they've got so good.

Bronze players are fine. It's more complicated than that but I'll leave be.

Well it's really just plain stupid that people do. If people can play Platinum and beat if in 25 minutes flat good for them but why bag on other people? Are they really just that insecure and pathetic that they would just trash on another player who just doesn't want to put too much time into a game or in other terms has the perception that they have a life outside of video games? Really people who do that are just annoying.

IT's ridiculously easy, but Silver Collector games feel like Gold Reaper games a lot of the time.

I'm N7 1600+, played just shy 1K of games, and almost all of it on Bronze. I think less than 0.2% -- yes, 20 games -- are on Silver and Gold. Never tried Platinum. Out of my comfort zone.

I've extracted on Gold before, the last was on a Drell Adept for a Weekend Event. Got lucky and got into a Reactor/ Geth with a Salarian Team. I didn't do great but I contributed.

I don't kid myself. It's nice to see the replies here that is positive towards Bronze players, but fundamentally there's a bias here against Bronze, and to some extent, Silver players. It's not that the forumites are consistently hostile against Bronze players, but something implicit. Balance suggestions are usually aimed at making things work better in Gold+ (and usually quite over the top in Bronze -- no consideration there), discussion on enemy difficulties are about Bronze (Geth and Collectors aren't exactly pushovers in Bronze either).

And then there are the snide remarks. Amazingly a lot of those. Just take a look. Almost every bronze mention would warrant a snide remark. I don't mind the implicit slant so much, but the snideness was -- note, was -- really annoying.

Guess what? I don't really care anymore. My opinion of these forums are mostly underwater anyway after the silliness over the Piranha/ Krysae/ Typhoon rebalance, I'm just here because I like to keep tabs on official Bioware topic like events and balance changes, and I dip in to help newbies or people who don't understand certain mechanics.

Mood-dependant for me. When I feel like playing casual, I will jump to Bronze/Silver. Gold is my usual, but I wouldn't go for Platinum yet till I fully master the classes I'm using.

Absolutely, and it's justified. Unless you're new to the game, just promoted a character, want to try soloing or just try something out.

If it's none of the above, honestly you should just consider quitting video games all together.

I'll be honest. I really don't get the appeal of constantly promoting your characters, especially before the patch when it wiped all your visual customization, but I suppose that might have to do more with me being more into RPGs than action games. When I find a build that works well for me, I tend to leave it alone or will use a respec card to try something different. I really dislike that I have to completely rebuild characters I've found a niche for which is why I almost never promote aside from Weekend Challenges (I'm around 510). I never promote Sentinels, but I've promoted Soldiers several times.

Sometimes I give the characters themes (my Paladin is absolutely named Sub-Zero) and occasionally I give them backstories (my FQE Pyrrha has something of a pyromania streak, shunning her from her family but leading to a lucrative life as a mercenary against the Reaper hordes), but to blithely promote them in a mindless grind over and over seems an almost Sisyphean labor with your ridiculous N7 score as your own private boulder. I just don't get it, but I don't play CoD MP either (beyond the campaign on a rental, maybe).

Your brand of douchebaggery is the reason we can't have nice things.

lol.. you can blame that on all the people screaming for nerfs and buffing enemy factions. I warned you guys a long time ago that if they keep buffing enemies and nerfing guns.. That the people who played Silver were going to drop down to bronze, because we like to play casually and not stress out over how stupidly hard the game is becoming.

I play level 20's on Bronze. If I don't feel like playing Silver or (recently) I was showing a friend of mine who just started the ropes.
Pathetic isn't the word for it, more like lazy or un-motivated.

I don't mind them seeing as how I never interact with them, even on the rare occasion I promote - (Seriously not trying to brag or anything, just stating facts) Bronze, even with a level one, is boring considering my arsenal.

I am sorry, I should of said "consider quitting online games all together". Singleplayer? who cares, but you shouldn't do the disservice of EVER having to subject anyone to your incompetence if you have a hard time playing something above Bronze on a regular basis.

This also.
I stopped promoting long ago cause I got tired of raising my classes  back up to their previous effectiveness.
