I'm just wondering if the game design and art direction for DA3 will be as poor as DA2, or if it will go forward / backward in a better direction.

If you thought the art and game design were poor in DA2, how could you stand Origins?

Outside this site the majority of gamers that enjoyed DA:O did not enjoy DA2, and as one of them I do not want to get my hopes up by a game made by people with a radically different view of what fun is.

It is a fair question that is applicable to a large group of potential customers, me thinks.

There were a few staff changes, such as Brent Knowles leaving the team between Origins and DA2. But most of the senior people, like Mark Darrah, Mike Laidlaw and David Gaider are all still at the helm. The commercial success of DA:O and the tepid response to DA2 can both be laid at their feet.

DA2 had mostly the same dev team as Origins, but with a few key exceptions. Some of the people who were there from the beginning of Origins were not at Bioware when DA2 entered development.

This Wikipedia article is fairly new, so I'm going to take th opportunity to plop it in here:

http://en.m.wikipedi...i/Brent_Knowles

This is likely exactly what the OP was looking for.

Please do not let your temper tantrums about mine and other gamer's opinions derail this thread. I will no longer be replying to your non-topic rage and I would ask others not to turn this thread into a **** flinging flame fest.

Thank you for your response, I was unaware that the two games were made by the same team. Do we have any comments from the devs about the design direction?

You must be new here. Most BSN posters have little good to say about DA2. And when they do have something good to say about it it tends to be about the character writing and not the gameplay, maps, or plot.

That's why I thought this would be a fun thread. It's like we can't go tweleve minutes without one of these threads.
