Bigger is better. Hazard Reactor is popular for grenade users (e.g. Turian Ghost), and Firebase Giant is also well-liked. You want somewhere to which to retreat, lest you be overrun.

Congrats! I only recently soloed Bronze for the first time, myself.

Truth be told I think only above average players can solo *any* difficulty, so don't fret over it "only" being Bronze. Not having a team watching your back, and having to do objectives by yourself bumps up the difficulty by quite a bit.

BTW, I think London would be a tough map. There's not a whole lot of cover that can't get flanked.

A guy on my friends list suggested Giant, for all the reasons Gamemako stated. I made a thread asking for Gold solo advice, and many others suggested Glacier (reason being less distance for objectives).

It took me 3 tries.

First on Glacier, I made it to one of the later waves (can't remember which)

Second on Giant, I wiped on one of the mid waves.

Third on Glacier, extraction.

This is using a Kroguard with OP consumables, like Cyclonic IV.

Nice work, Jade. My first solo was with a Turian Sentinel using a Revenant.

Good job! Though I'd personally use this build, since I can't see myself not having maxed phase disruptor.

London's an odd choice of map lol. Are you going for the Survivor tag?

Giant is considered the easiest by most because it's very large and doesn't
have too many open sightlines. Most of the time it actually feels very
quiet and lonely compared to a  normal public gold match. It also has
very merciful disable objectives. It has infamous hack circles but they aren't too bad imo uless you're playing Geth with someone who isn't a Krogan or Batarian.

Hazard Reactor has caught on with some people because you will be running
circles around the map a lot and you can kill enemies in the reactor.
It's not very open either, so enemies can't snipe you from across the
map. However, like Giant, most of its hack circles are horrible.

Ghost is another favorite for the same reason. Hack Circles aren't as bad in this one, but it is easier to get flanked.

Dagger is probably the easiest map to play in general, but all of the
objectives are horrible, which is why you rarely see Dagger in solo
runs.

Avoid:

Hydra - Very open, difficult objectives and not much wiggle room.
Condor - No ammo lol.
Glacier - Unless you have massive health. The disable nodes on this map are ridiculous.
London - Worst hacks in the game and very hard pizza and escort too.

Yeah, Giant and Ghost seem to be the big favs. I did my first solo Gold on Ghost yesterday, and the objectives on it are VERY forgiving. Especially the hacks. If you get a hack, do a happy jump dance. Giant is good, but I don't like the objectives on it too much and I find it harder to flank the enemies at some points (there are less different roads to take. Ghost can be crossed in many different ways in order to avoid the enemies).

I am wondering whether to do the second gold solo for lone wolf on Giant...

And congrats on first solo! Job well done. :wizard: (even though I don't like soloing myself too much. I can honestly say that my gold solo was some of least fun moments I've ever had in this game :pinched: )

Yea, to answer you both. I was going for the biotic mastery challenge with biotic slash, that's why i chose it over phase disruptor and max BC was a must for the instant barrier regen. This is also why I chose London, Slayer and an Acolyte pistol because I needed them all for Earth mastery, then obviously solo for lone wolf lol.

5 in 1. True multi-tasking! Image IPB

So ghost, giant and reactor.. Reactor seems good for infiltrator. Also, yes. On my 1st solo I got hit with an escort drine on wave 9. Worse than that was all the enemies spawned on top of the drone's location. That took some baiting to get them away lol.

Congrats, OP. It feels great knowing that you can do it, doesn´t it? :)

Jade8aby88 wrote...

Giant for me definitely. I tried Ghost too, but it´s just not my favorite map. Primes were shooting me around two corners and three walls while I was climbing the ladder on the opposite side of map.... No...no...no, I don´t want to remember it.

The new white is very good as well. Soloed it with batarian sentinel v Collectors. Spent the majority of my time shockwaving abominations but so it goes.

Well, using Phase Disruptor is doing it with style, using Slash is doing it the slow campy boring way.

Great to see players trying this. Well Done! I only recently did Bronze solo myself so I know how you feel. Used N7 Fury FBW Cerberus myself. Solo is a little hairy on challenge waves isn't it? Now if only I could figure out how to do gold...

I have to disagree on Condor ; if you have no real ammo requirements, it's a map that is totally doable on solo. The ammo boxes are dispatched smartly and you can't miss them when fleeing/kiting/moving around. This is a problem when playing with friends but on solo, not so much.
Now, there are some difficult objectives on that map, especially a few disable nodes + hack circles, so it might be difficult on Gold, yes.

Kroguard:wizard:
He can take an insane amount of damage which makes him very forgiving for mistakes, plus you have charge to restore your shields or get away from messy situations.
Ideally run in circles so everything follows you in circles. That way you don´t have enemies all around the map and you have always "safe" places to retreat. Don´t stay too long in one place because then enemies will overrun you. Leave bosses as last to kill. Run(retreat) whenever it gets heated.

Congrats :)

I myself just 10 minutes ago managed to FINALLY finish my first gold solo extraction ever! 1 more time, then back to silver :)

Did you kroguard it?

Ha!  Of course!  I don't have the required skill to actually play gold 'normally'.  I just want my banner :P  I'm much more comfortable in silver.

How do you not have the skill to play gold normally but can solo it?

I'm sure it's been posted already, but kroguard v Geth is easymode gold solo.  I've been thinking of stepping up to gold as silver is pretty easy for me now, but just the thought of doing it outside of the kroguard actually scares me.  I can't help but think I'd be more of a hinderance to my team as I'd be too new at it.  Of course, reading all of the hate threads against players taking the step up to gold 'when they're not ready' is also something that plays on my mind.

Great job on the solo! Once you get that first one done, you will want to do it again and again. I remember my first solo was the female quarian infiltrator using sabotage before they nerfed it against geth. Let's just say I didn't have to use my gun that much.
