That's not true, I have many friends who play almost exclusively games like COD, and they loved Origins to bits.
To suggest that people who like one thing will never like another thing is foolish. I don't know many people who think "that game has this label, so I must play it" or "will never play it", whatever, the point is people don't work like that. Well most people don't think like that.

Was going to write sarcastic tirade... but I'll answer like this (Will use ME terminology):marktcameron wrote...
and listen to your dao fans.
DAO fans are not a Reaper. They are Geth who are trying to build a consensus. If it's not about scenery re-usage or companions outfits there will be about 50/50 or 33/33/33 split in opinions. So the best course of action for the DA developers is not to take ideas from fans but look at the argumentation.
If the post is about " I want [A] because I want it" then you're just wasting everyone's time.
If your post is about " I want [A] because that will make game [B], [C], [D] and that will enhance gaming experience in such aspects as [X], [Y] and [Z]" then developers can talk about that idea at the "discussion table" and if it's not implementable because it'll conflict with the tone/pacing/script.
Example:
I want at some point in the game to defend a castle. By implementing several defense mechanisms and ability to at least to some extent to control NPC guards will make game more tactical. Depending on how much lines of defenses were breached and amount of casualties among the guards I will receive different rewards and maybe obtain a hard to get achievement. LATER in the game some army general might praise me for my perfect or commend my good or criticize/laugh at my near failure defense operation. That will make my impact on the world more satisfying/noticeable.
The thing is... the game might not have castle (or any other) defense, but the idea of mentioning "no casualties" "perfect something" is satisfying for perfectionist players and idea of more hard to get achievements (also for hardcore gamers/fans) is also not that bad.
So less yelling "listen to the fans" and more argumented ideas would be great. If you can prove by not being forceful that idea is good then there is a greater chance that it will be implemented.
Bottom line: it's about time for fans to stop using phrase "listen to the fans"... (sounds like a title for a song about gaming preservation in it's natural habitat)

Heh. I was expecting yet another thread about "mature" content.
As for the thread we got: If they do everything that everyone asks of them, nobody will be happy with the mess that we'll get.
They should focus on something and make it the best that they can. I think that DA3:I will be its own game separate from the previous ones. While I'll still end up comparing my enjoyment of it to other games (like I do with all games even between different genres), I'll try not to judge it only on its differences from the other DA games.
