A cancellation or a failure to release.
This. And I would be most upset.

Probably nothing. I mean, I've already resigned myself to putting up with Origin for the sake of being able to play Bioware games on my PC.
ME3 is the only one that requires Origin, and there are workarounds for that.

The one single deal-breaker no matter how good the game? Online all the time. Not even for the best game ever.

If the multiplayer we all know they're going to add turns out to be necessary for singleplayer. I'M LEAVING.

If they bring back the warden shuffle during combat, nearly a game breaker for Origins
LOL I was going to say 'nothing' until I read this! XD
Truthfully, I would probably buy it anyway, but I'd be popping veins in frustration everytime combat started!
Nothing, but nothing will stop me from buying the game, but if there were something, this would be it.
Also, could someone please explain what the 'Awesome Button' was/is? I gather it was something mentioned in the marketing for DA2, but beyond that... Was it something specific to console versions?

IIRC, the devs said that their goal for the A button (or whatever your basic attack button was) was that whenever you pressed it something awesome happened. Thus, people unhappy with DA2's combat changes refer to it as the "Awesome Button".

Personally I could live past anything other then an absence of origins/races.
No race options (SP & MP) would keep me from buying DA3 as well, personally. I'd also like some kind of origins back too
A plot/story that hasn't had had time to be developed properly would also keep me from buying.

Pretty much this. If one can sense certain..aura off the game, having to do with trying to make everything look COOL in fashion average 12 year old boy understands COOL, I'll stay well away. Ie if they repeat the gigantic foul ups of DA II I officially forget about this franchise.

I will eventually get it due to my synecheiomania (insane desire to see sequels, even bad ones), but if it's terrible, I'll likely not get it until the price plummets after a couple of years.
To relate to the question at hand:
If there's one thing that would make me wait until the price plummets before getting it, it would be an obviously rush-developed game.
The game can be rush-developed and still enjoyable, but if there's a constant feeling of rushed development throughout the game -- such as ridiculous shortcuts abound like it's riddled with non-associated locales having the exact same layout in various caves and outdoor paths at completely different locations for major plot areas, you can bet that it will be a long time before I get the game. (It's not too unheard-of to see different houses with similar or same layouts, but for every 3rd house in the entire game to be the exact same is still a bit much.) If I have to get a DLC to have any variety, it'll wait until there's a packaged deal at a huge discount.
EDIT: The occasional side-encounter is fine with significant reuse of assets, but important encounters need their own environments.

That includes
- flash/style over matter/substance (case in point, ME2 ending, ME3 begning and ending)
- plot oversimplification (case in point: Cerberus)
- awesome bottun, redicolous fighting
- enemy airborne reinforcement division
If the Chantry/Templars get the Cerberus treatment, BioWare is dead to me FOREVER.

2)Forced to be an inquisitor and forced to help them even when wanted them to be destroyed
3)Mage inquisitor*.. really? Whats next? Now you can be a Dragon! meh
4)Forced to kill who ever you side with.. hello da2 endings!
(*Anyone at bioware knows that inquisitors became templars and seekers? yes Bioware you can destroy you're own stupid lore.... its just..) meh!
Let me point you out to the The Nevarran Accord:
The Nevarran Accord was an agreement signed in 1:20 Divine between the Inquisition and the Chantry to unite under one cause and establish the Chantry’s military arm. Together the Chantry and the Inquisition created the Circle of Magi during the rule of Orlais’s Emperor Drakon I, who is sometimes credited with the creation of the Circles. The Inquisition subsequently developed into two groups: the Templar Order and the Seekers of Truth.
Pff... Mage inquisitor.

Honestly, it doesn't work and I much prefer the old set-up on fighting enemies already there and not jumping down from the sky.
