Reused areas is the only thing tbh.

This.....   I didn't so much mind the filler of fetch quests inbetween the meat of the game as I minded the fact that every area was pretty much the same.  Gobs and gobs of reused background made for a monotonous setting.

Personally I could live past anything other then an absence of origins/races.

No race options (SP & MP) would keep me from buying DA3 as well, personally.  I'd also like some kind of origins back too :)

A plot/story that hasn't had had time to be developed properly would also keep me from buying.

No race options would be more of a deal-breaker for me too, though having some selectable background would seriously decrease my interest in the game as well.

A return to DAO style race options would be a deal breaker for me since aside from the first and last hour of the game, they didn't do anything at all. I'd rather Bioware focus on removing insubstantial fluff and delivering real choice w/ varying outcomes

 Title speaks for itself.

Also please no flaming - if someone's opinion makes you sad go for a walk or something, do not complain or counter-whine or whatever.

Sorry but I have two things that could convince me not to buy DA3:

- Word of mouth being as bad as DA2.
- The game not looking like an RPG for what I consider essential to the RPG experience.

Wow, lots of "deal-breakers" being thrown around... I guess that's Bioware guaranteed to lose at least one sale from you two then!

Having a Dialogue wheel that is incredibly childish and has a icon to show if its good or a bad option, that's what killed it for me in DA2 everything became about the icon rather than what was being said.

If the game again opens up more doors than it closes, I'll be so disgusted with Bioware. Origins wasn't always satisfying, but it tried to give at least some closure. DA2 blatantly began things it wasn't going to address - Flemeth, Sandal, the ending, etc.

"action" combat, or even the illusion of it. It's my character that has the reaction speed of a python, not me.

agreed, especially when I'm suffering from RSI after a long stuck to the mouse working week and have my wrist wrapped

what would stop me? tough one because Bioware are my sort of game makers... hmm... if they stopped having intense interpersonal relationships and good characters.

I'll buy it eventually regardless, although it might be like DA2 where I buy it used for 15 bones several months after release. A better question is what would make me interested in buying it from EA on release day. To which there isn't a quick and easy answer, other than a generic "That direction you took it in DA2?...yeah... the opposite of pretty much all of that."

There's two things:

1)If the singleplayer-campaign can in any way be influenced by what you do in mulitplayer/on your iPhone/on Facebook/???, I will not buy this game. A single item is the maximum I may tolerate.
2)A day one DLC that is in relevant to the plot.

This wouldn't even stop me!  If I got a copy for free, I'd still buy one, because BioWare deserves my money for the years of excellent entertainment they have provided me. :D

The only thing that would give me pause would be if they went back to a silent protagonist.  I'd still buy it, but I'd be really hacked off about it.  But, since that's not going to happen, it's all good. :wizard:

If I see user reviews out all claiming how horrible the ending to the story is.

Bar that, not much. Unless everyone hates it, I think it'd be an instant buy.

I hated the waves of teleporting enemies. That bugged me.

Do it once or twice if there's a reason - eg, some sort of door opening - but not the bloody teleporting.

If I hear it's not a great return to the RPG basics I won't buy it, simple

(except if the story is really impressive, like on the level of a Legacy of Kain game)

Honestly - I'm watching with interest - but if I see any marketing along the lines of 'awesome button' - '..who you romanced in DAO? Its like - WHO CARES?! This is war!' - any sign of an omni staff or interviews talking endlessly about how they're focusing on combat...

..then I'm gone.

This to I think.

They take that approach and I am outta here!

Parachuting enemies or limited party skills like Dragon Age 2.  The marketing department might ruin it too if I pay attention to what they say.

I would pass if they went to a fixed character, as in no character creator. I would pass if they removed party based combat. I would pass if they removed third person point of view and went to a first person only point of view.
