Ok, so no LAG. Then could it be caused by packet loss? (Lost UDP packets).

I experienced something which is maybe in connection with this issue.
My last enemy was a ravager. I tried to kill him and he shot me. First of his shots dropped my shield, shield gate worked well. His second shot dropped my health (health gate worked well), then I taken cover. His third shot hit the cover. After 1-1.5 second I died, game told I killed by the ravager. But I was behind cover and his third shot didn't damaged me (I waited to shield regeneration behind cover).

It was on moonbase, gold, reaper. I palyed with GI with HM turned on, so I hadn't too much shield/health (I'm always on shield- or heath.gate with him :D). I was the host and it was on PC. It happened 4 times in one game but never again!

Same here with HV, ghost, geth, gold. My enemy was a prime (last enemy), I had 3 block of health only, no shields. I charged him, that killed his drones and damaged him. He shot me at the same time. After the charge I was on health-gate and then immediately died by his next shot. On most of the time I can regen my shield and have time to take cover or shoot. but not every time. I was the host and it was on PC.

I told these things because I hope it will help to find the problems about health-gate and around some other issues. I'll record our every game since today with fraps, and I'll collect video proof about strange things.

I experienced another situation where shield and health gate didn't function properly yesterday.

I played vorcha sentinel (off-host) on platinum vs geth and was hit by a rocket trooper double tap. I was taken down instantly. The first rocket took down my shields and the second rocket (which hit not even 0.5 sec later) killed me. This should be impossible if the gates are working as intended.

I was trying out that ridiculous Volus/Paladin Platinum farming strategy earlier and it was the worst it's ever been. All three Volus were going from full shields to dead in less than a second over and over despite constantly having max damage resistance. I really wish I had a capture card.

Ravager...
This was even better: I reaved the ravager across the map and begun to shoot him. Then he fired and i took cover. After his barrage I peeked out of cover, reaved again and killed him with my CAR.
The I turned to seek another enemy (with full shields). It was near the end of the wave on reaktor with a Justikar.
After some steps I dropped dead. Killfeed said I was killed by the last Ravager, that i killed 2 seconds before.

I don't know if anyone on the 11 pages before me posted this already, but the devs claimed in another thread, that healthgate and shieldgate are supposed to HAVE A COOLDOWN of 3 or 4 seconds.

That means if healthgate saved your life and you get hit again by another shot within the cooldown, there will be no healthgate saving you again. You have to wait the 3 (or 4, I forgot, I think one had 3 and the other 4 seconds of cooldown) seconds to benefit from the gates again.

It is evident. Without a cooldown the enemies could not kill you. This thread is about the health-gate didn't work at first time in some cases and nobody knows why.

I know what this thread is about. I am just wondering if the 4 seconds were definitely over at the time he got instantly killed.

And please don't get me wrong. I am not saying that nothing has changed. I myself and my squadmates get downed a lot more since the patch & DLC. I would LOVE to have the devs change this back to the old way!
Medi-Gel consumage is noticably higher for nearly all the players I know.

I personally think this:

If the "apparent" full effect of shield/health gates are dependent on a decent connection to the host. Then we need to be able to determine whether that connection actually is decent. Ingame.

Apparent = though the gates technically work as advertised connection issues make it seem like they don't. Eg. the subjective "grace" preriod is gone from some games.

Decent connection = whatever network requirements of quality and delay that is necessary for apparent function of the shield/health gates (and various other stuff actually).

It's the theoretical versus practical thing.

Theoretically the shield/health gate is there to prevent you from getting instant downed right? The math works but due to "unforseen" conditions (lag) the subjective experience is that some people get instant downed anyway.

I have gone through this before on this thread. I had not had a shield or healthgate in the last 30 seconds, much less the last 4. I think I even say so in the OP.
