I was asked to change my password today!?

My old handle was not able to log me in, so i asked for a validation code. When i chose a new password, it told me it needed to be 8 digits in length.
My old pw was just 6 digits.

Do you randomly scan for possibly insecure passwords and render them useless?

If yes, thanks, if not, i am a little scared about what had happened.

For two to three months in here, we didn't see any response from any Bioware people, even though over the past three years, this has been just about the only place that interaction with Bioware has ever been seen relatively often.  Real tech support is at EA Help.  (Member Account problems usually are their bailiwick.)  Anyway, suddenly, last week, one of them dropped in here.  There's no way to guess whether it will be another two months or more before that happens again.

Prior to whenever the last previous appearance here had been, visits from Jeff or Jesse were never frequent or on any regular basis.  Also, it NEVER had happened on a weekend.  You can wait to see, or you can send a PM to one or the other of those two (but I should've added a CYA in closing about whether they or EA were who to ask).

Account related activity is all handled by EA so if there was a password reset it would have come from their side of things. It might have been an automated system email trying to get people to up the strength of their passwords but no way for us to know for sure.

As Just-Me mentioned Jeff and I stop by and try to help when we can but time isn't our friend these days.
