They never did tell us what happened to the people on the Citadel, did they?

Though judging by the pile of bodys in the shape shifting logic defying creepy tunnel of doom, it's safe to assume they all died.

It bums me out to know that Conrad, the Tiptree veteran, the girl who lost her parents and possibly even Aria all met cold and unpersonal ends. Considering the treatment Wong and Reegar got, I guess I can't be surprised. Image IPB

Those bodies are supposed to have come up from Earth, though. That room doesn't prove much of anything about what happens to the rest of the Citadel.

Last I heard was death by Twitter via Walters but some have dismissed that claim.

Bioware never seemed to understand that these are the characters we care about. Not some random kid who's too stupid to listen to his elders while there are giant ships of doom flying around.

Super MAC leaves not an inch within his view unscathed.

From my understanding, there was a flip-flop on their fates. At one point, someone said they died when the Crucible activated, but then after the EC this person turned around and said that they survived. Might just be a rumor or wishful thinking, but that's what I'm told.

I remember someone saying the shields on the arms saved them when the citadel moved. And someone who made the game said some lived I think at PAX or whatever the one that happened shortly after ME3 came out

If memory serves, first we heard they were dead, then someone else said they weren't. Final word was that some people died but everyone plot relevant or significant enough survived. Now I'm not sure how plot significance is determined so whether Kelly made it or not is ambiguous and left up to you to decide. So speculate, cause that's the most definitive answer you're likely to get.

They said explicitly the characters we got to know, have survived, while some (nameless) citicens died.

/edit: lol second. ;)

There's rumors that there will be another SP DLC to explain this

The Reapers played "Will they blend?"

The answer was yes.

"We'll need DLC to explain this" is becoming the new "This proves IT"

Patrick Weekes indicated that most people on the Citadel survived via ... whatever you call that mechanism that kept Joker from getting spaced while trying to save the Normandy at the begining of ME2. This was based on what he said on a panel at PAX East in April

You a crazy troll, OP!  Yah?

If not, yes, there are some serious wonderings about certain people like Aria and Bailey.  But, you know, it is down the list of things wrong with the ending, certainly not in the top, say, 5.

I think the reapers stopped off at a burger joint on the way to earth...most people got off the citadel then..while the reaps werent looking...

after some burgers, fries and a few milk shakes...the reapers all piled back into the citadel and got back on the road...

it wasnt till they got around mars did someone say...hey..where are the kids? did you leave them behind?...

then a big argument broke out about who left who behind and when and where...

then harbi said...dont make me stop this citadel...and come back there...

then it got real quiet...all the way to earth...

except for the catalyst...who kept asking...are we there yet?...

Nope, no they did not, well not in game anyway.

Some desperate tweeting said "nobody died" and that they are still alive... somehow surviving even Shepard hitting the summon firey apocalypse tube.

One of the slides shows something that looks like a ravaged presidium - certainly no sign of any life, with the damaged arms of the Citadel visible above it. But then again, perhaps most people evacuated when the Citadel started being moved. Shepard and Anderson only thought the dead bodies had come from earth. They could just as easily been corpses that the Keepers thoughtfully removed from the streets like they always do. It is one of those things that I wish they had addressed in the EC properly - given the number of people we interacted with on the Citadel and recommended various courses of action, not to mention the ones we actually knew by name, it would have been nice to have been told one way or another.

Oh, he'll be fine ... blended next to his son and daughter ... there will be some trouble with his blended ex-wife, but I think he'll handle this ...

What a beautiful family-reunion ...

the initial tweet said that some people got out, but for the rest "bad times". Whether Bad Times means "processed into reaper meat" or "the power to the freezers went out so they had to eat all the ice cream before it melted" is up for speculation. In any case in the Original Ending it sure looked like the citadel completely exploded... so that's bad.

In the Extended Cut it becomes clear that the citadel did dot completely explode, at least not all of it. It certainly was heavily damaged. The death toll was likely large, but there would have been survivors. It's possible when the reapers invaded (we assume they invaded, anyhow - we never see any live or dead husks or anything) they focused on the areas they needed to be rather than immediately sweeping the entire citadel. One can imagine running battles between the reapers and C-Sec, aided by the citizen's militia Shepard did or did not authorize, bolstered by the Citadel Defense Force (whose strength was effected by dozens of different decisions Shepard made). Of course, since they didn't actually bother to show us any of our war assets in action, who knows.
