Unintended spike in difficulty: Bioware is working on it.

Their run is funny.
Seriously, get rid of the armor. Annoying and funny looking characters should be throw-able.

^ this!!! I feel paranoid all the time now!!
If you rocketclear a hack circle you should get at least a little breathing room and not get swarmed by the next wave in what sometimes feels like 5 seconds. The coke addict like speed of the Dragoons makes it even worse.....
And the hack the 4 objectives can turn into a giant clusterf*ck in an instant now even on silver, if you don't get all 4 within the first minute, with enemies all over the place...

Give Pyros some sound as they approach, they shouldn't be stealthier than Phantoms.
Look at Geth stun-locking abilities now that they have bombers to flush us out of cover.
Reduce Dragoons speed a little and maybe their numbers.
Remove some of the Possessed spawns from early waves, especially in bronze & silver (shouldn't really have to deal with that in wave 1 on bronze).
Check spawn timings during objectives, sometimes I'm just amazed at how fast and hard they rush you and in such numbers, even after being cleared by missiles.
When you use medigel you shouldn't have a Dragoon lashing you before you've even stood up, they can stunlock you straight back down again.
All this is from a bronze & silver perspective, I haven't dared to go back into gold since the dlc.

Full health and shields AV taken down by one...one swarmer to dead. A Turian Havoc in the same game was also going down to swarmers...after popping stims, and the Krogan Sentinel must have been drinking ryncol, because he face planted as often as I did.
I'm having to use Stronghold gear in Silver when I didn't use too (used to use Omnicapacitors), as I decided than I got tired of 'I'm down' or 'Bosh'Tet!' every few seconds.

Which is a real issue considering most of the vocal protesters against a reduction in difficulty already sport a maxed - or close to - manifest. Leaving those who are in the grey area of no longer reliably being able to complete golds suddenly faced with significantly reduced credit gain. This wouldn't be such a huge issue if the RNG of the Store wasn't such a completely disgusting mess.
I'd happily continue to stomp on U/U/G but a combination of being a Euro PS3 player and having a ghost-town of a friend's list following BL2's release - in addition to friend's leaving just because they were bored with the same old - conspired to shunt me towards FW/G/G and G/U/G simply because U/U/G with PUGs is about as much fun as slamming your fruits in a door. Since the changes last week and the removal of that as a viable choice I'm left with the option of doing Silvers - where PUGs can still reliably wipe, now even moreso -or queue for golds when I know it's going to be migraine-inducing.
Bioware screwed up plain and simple. Whatever they thought they were going to make better with the removal of camping they clearly failed so majestically as to kill a massive percentage of the players' desires to log on at all. I was already close to quitting purely because of the Store system but the impact these "fixes" have had on my credit acquisition have pretty much sealed the deal and I'm fairly certain I'm not in the minority here.

for some, who have been around and are high level players, they don't care anymore, becuase their manifest is maxed out. For me, I have almost everything maxed out, save for a few URs and weapon mods. So I can go down and play silver and have fun and not care (but for sure the game is less fun/more annoying now, to me). For the vast majority, they want credits to get better weapons. So all of a sudden, with the elimination of Glacier and FBW, and the notable uptick in difficulty, they have gone from ~200-300k/hr to maybe having to spend 1.5 hours to get enough to buy a sigle PSP.
Doing the math, you need ~1000PSPs to get 100 URs (@5%) So they would need to drop over 1000-1500 hours to get 100UR slots filled, and thier manifest is still not complete (although arguably big enough).
The point is that this is way more time than anybody new is going to spend on the game. The vast majority will get frustrated and move on, pretty quick. For the elite with extended friends lists, it won't matter (much), but for people who play PUGs, the game will die pretty quick, imo. It is in the game's best interest to make the credits easier to come by (by increasing reward or making it a bit easier), the packs cheaper, or the weapons easier to get.

Dragoons will generally not shoot you in cloak, though they will fire at the position you were last at. They are however melee creatures and follow normal melee creature behavior which attempts to seek out cloaked players if they decide they want to try to whip you. This roughly breaks down to, a melee creature attempting to melee a cloaked player will always find them and hit them as long as they stand still. However as long as the cloaked player keeps moving the melee creatures will not be able to find them.
We haven't changed cloak behavior, there are other difficulty concerns but this isn't one of them.
Problem is that it makes soloing a game nigh on impossible now because Dragoons will home in on you when doing a hack objective. It is true that other enemy characters would find you while cloaking, but they weren't nearly as FAST, and even Banshees would have their 'moments' where they had to cool down and stop teleporting after you, giving you some semblance of a chance.

While I agree wholeheartedly with your entire post I have very little belief they'll ever improve credit acquisition rates. Regardless of what spin they're giving for the removal of camping the crux of the matter is they wanted to reduce credit gain. Everyone accepts the Store RNG is broken to Hell but you will never see Bioware commenting on it. I'm sure it frustrates the devs as much as us because they've made an awesome MP experience only to have it tarnished by such a blatant milking exercise.

They could leave the difficulty as it is for gold & platinum, they are supposed to be tough anyway, but definitely bronze is too tough, that's where beginners go and it's crazy now. Silver, I've gone from never using consumables to 3 gels and a couple of missiles every match and that's when the credit isssues start to appear. Silver matches just don't provide enough to keep consumables up and buy packs for new gear.
I'm really relaxed about my manifest now, I'm enjoying playing silver just for fun and not really worrying about credits, but it will bother me when I start having to buy packs just to keep my medigel numbers up. I did farm FBWGG & P and I am glad I was able to, to put my manifest where it is now, but I do think the game is more interesting now that farming one map has gone.

My rocket and medgel consumption has gone up big time just because of these new enemies. You don't even get a chance to play with them in the game.

Sweet justification. And it's good to know the Devs still have our back.
I hope they'll also regard the credit issue too, for the sake of new/casual players and their manifests.

1. "Newers" need to learn to effectively combat the new units before complaining about them.
2. Gold and Platinum should stay as they are.
3. Bronze should be easy.
4. Silver should be moderate.
5. People should not expect a multiplayer game to stay completely static over the course of its lifetime, because people will stop playing it. This is not a supposition, it's a fact, borne out by tons and tons and tons of data.
Multiplayer doesn't have to stay static but it cant kill progression. Especially when the core fanbase comes from the rpg aspect and what comes with that is a sense of progresssing you character.
By forcing people down levels you start to neuter their progression in multiplayer.
Sure you can argue that one shouldn't be playing solely for the credits, but credits are still an important part. They are the part of the carrot on the stick the BW gave so that players have something to look forward to after their 1-2 hours of efforts.
If all a player is getting now is uncommon ammo packs, when they used to get a solid shot at rare upgrades its no surprise they'd be upset.

Bioware, please do not overcorrect with reducing the difficulty. Yes, the game did get a little more difficult with the last patch, and the release of the Retaliation DLC, but that is a good thing.
People really should dial their pride back a notch or two, and realize that they might just need to dial down their difficulty levels if they can't play at the same levels they had gotten used to. New enemy types, new hazard conditions, and new map layouts require a learning curve. Suck it up, and learn the new tactics you might need to adopt, in order to consistently survive, at a lower level.

Silver is as hard if not harder than gold though, which is dumb.
People sayng the game being harder is a good thing need to go try to solo if they want a challenge.
I would bet most of them cant even solo a silver game let alone gold yet they want it to be harder? what a joke.
If you cant regularly contribute at least 50-60k points on gold dont bother saying the game needs to be harder. 90% of the players I run across lately cant score above 30k, which is sad seeing I am not that great and I average 60k points a game on gold.
I love a challenge but it shouldnt be forced on everyone, thus silver needs to be returned to the way it was. Platinum can remain the hardmode, and if it still isnt enough for you go try soloing it. Still not enough tie 1 arm behind your back and try again. Before you ask for the game to be harder be creative and make it harder yourself to challenge yourself.
