Quite honestly, ever since the last DLC, the game did feel way harder than before.

I noticed it immediately when I played as an adept and when I played smaller maps.  The number of bosses spawning on Gold seems to have exploded!  In one match I was seeing Banshees coming into the room on Dagger 2X2 one right after the other with Brutes coming up the other side.  It was ridiculous!

You know, I thought it was only me. Since the first thing I did was fight against the collector I thought that maybe  I needed to get use to them, cause I kept gettin downed in silver.

Then I played against cerbys and gethies and died a lot faster, are often. Maybe I gettin rusty since I play 12-15 games a week only. But now that I see this I don't feel such a noob now. Something DID happend since the last DLC.

I don't know if there are more enemies, or are more aggresive or the health gate don't work, but something happened indeed.

Just thought I would join this discussion, and add my penny's worth.

I only started playing the multiplayer game a short while before the latest weekend's operation, and before the DLC I had just about got my first 3 classes to level 20 and remaining 3 to around 18 or so. Enjoyed playing each class, seeing how things worked - and of course I died a few times while getting the hang of things.

Just before downloading the latest DLC I would be regularly completing bronze without dying on my common classes and barely levelled common weapons. Bought a few spectre packs in case I got lucky, but mainly recruits and a couple of veterans. Attempted a few silvers, and while they were more punishing I would generally survive until extraction - at the cost of missiles gels and survival packs.

After DLC bronze was closer to the old silver difficulty, bearing in mind my still very low-end manifest. Silver is now very much a case of lots of instant deaths (managing to avoid ambushes and take out enemies only to get downed by a trooper while ducking for cover as soon as my shields fade) and I find myself only making it to extraction if I'm incredibly lucky or carried by a team with much better equipment. Effectively I'm pretty much stuck on bronze and building up exp/credits at the slowest rate.

I'm soon to spend another 1.5m on packs, and am now unsure whether to blow it on premium spectres just for the chance that I might get a couple of lucky weapons, or spend it on veterans for the higher chance of some uncommon weapons. Am leaning more towards the slim chance of lucky rares just so that I can hope to start playing some silver waves again... Although I've already been very lucky to get the kroguard and reegar, it gets boring when thats the only setup which gives me a chance at silver and would like a bit of variety :)

Yup. That's why they said they are mainly looking at bronze and silver. They're happy with gold+, but are keeping an eye on things.

I can feel the change in difficulty as well. And it doesn't feel good. I find myself getting angry at silver matches more often and because of cheap deaths instead of genuine f**k ups like before. With the "changes" to the shield and health gate mechanics, the increase in spawn rates and the new enemies, I'm going to be putting this game down for the most part until they fix it.

Somehow, I feel like the difficulty went back to normal pre DLC stage, but for some reason the number of spawns during extraction seems to have doubled. There is just way too many enemies during the final wave.

the spawning is the main thing for me now. You kill an enemy during a data wave, and they spawn basically where they were. Before this was probably the case as well, but with sp many enemies tha stun now, so many enemies that kill you so fast (and there may be health shield issues who knows), and excessive stomping and then there are instakills, data uploads to me have become  a nightmare on gold plat. it is just not fun anymore, it is more just ridiculous and annoying

I understand non pugs have no probs, but since pugs is all I play, am playing much less, and will be most likely movin on to somehtign mroe enjoyable

Bioware has said before that they mainly balance for Gold, so I assume since nobody is really complaining about Gold, that they're looking at Silver and Bronze. I mostly play Silver, and it *definitely* got harder.

All this is from a bronze & silver perspective, I haven't dared to go back into gold since the dlc.

Which is a real issue considering most of the vocal protesters against a reduction in difficulty already sport a maxed - or close to - manifest.  Leaving those who are in the grey area of no longer reliably being able to complete golds suddenly faced with significantly reduced credit gain.  This wouldn't be such a huge issue if the RNG of the Store wasn't such a completely disgusting mess.

I'd happily continue to stomp on U/U/G but a combination of being a Euro PS3 player and having a ghost-town of a friend's list following BL2's release - in addition to friend's leaving just because they were bored with the same old - conspired to shunt me towards FW/G/G and G/U/G simply because U/U/G with PUGs is about as much fun as slamming your fruits in a door.  Since the changes last week and the removal of that as a viable choice I'm left with the option of doing Silvers - where PUGs can still reliably wipe, now even moreso -or queue for golds when I know it's going to be migraine-inducing.

Bioware screwed up plain and simple.  Whatever they thought they were going to make better with the removal of camping they clearly failed so majestically as to kill a massive percentage of the players' desires to log on at all.  I was already close to quitting purely because of the Store system but the impact these "fixes" have had on my credit acquisition have pretty much sealed the deal and I'm fairly certain I'm not in the minority here.

-0.5: Blame the rekease of BL2, Im in the same boat for the most part. Im glad they removed the ability to camp easily on FBW,and this is coming from someone that has done a good amount of that! Its made me a better player and Im having a lot more fun.

+0.5: Yes, fix the PRNG for the store, at least increase the probabilitiez (ya, PRNG is the proper term, not RNG - classical computer science. Only nature can provide a true RNG).

And the week's balance change has come and gone, and nothing was done except fix a couple missile glitch exploits and increase sniper rifle damage.

Way to troll BioWare.

for Bronze I would suggest:

Dragoons max hp or damage lowered by around 10% (or even both) max of 1 for any waves they show up.

collectors HP decrease of 10%
Scions damage decrease 30%
Pretorians max 1 per wave. kill it no more spawn. all waves, even wave 11
speed decrease of possesed abominations of 10%

Atlas missile Damage over time decreased. speed decreased, hp kept the same or lowered by 5%

Prime's combat drone HP decreased, damage decreased, fire rate decreased... all by varing amounts from 10% to 50% range

Geth bomber speed decrease, Hp decrease. (less bombs deployed ??)
____________________________________
Silver:
Decreased Hp for a bunch of Collector Units
Scions Damage cap put in place and max damage decreased 25%
shield regen delay time decreased for there attacks also. max of one for extraction wave.
Pretorians max of 1 at a time for extraction and wave 6.
possed # of troops at a time is maxed out at 1.
Pretorians can only be possed on either wave 9 or ten no other waves.
max scions at once 2... can not spawn in same spot as the other one though.
Possed troops limited to 1 (yes I said this twice)

Dragoons: Hp decreased 10% rate of fire decreased 15% speed decreased 5% limit of 1 on all waves not 9 or 10. wave 9/10 maxed out at 2 extraction maxed out a 1.
replaced by Centurians or troopers
Nemisis max # at a time is 2... 3 takes way too long to kill. it draws the game out to long trying to find them while they hide off in some corner of the map.

Phantom DR reduction of their dodge/acrobatics
% of power Damage mitigated by their anti power bubble lowered

Now with the Pathing of the Banshees fixed
Insta gib chance lowered.
HP of their armor decreased by 200-300 hit points.

Avenger buffed damage, spare ammo, amount in clip,
Katana buffed damage spare ammo, fire rate
Scimitar amount in clip, accuarcy, 5 damage boost,

__________
NONE difficutly changes
Base HP of all humans increased by 10% ( 2% for health and 8% for shields)
Base health increased by 75 for Vorcha. shields stay same
Krogan health increased by 100 points (non Krogard)(have not played with the Shaman as of this posting)
base Turians max weapon damage boost in their passive tree arc is now 35% up from 30%
All vanguards given health increases of 100 hp (except Krogard)
Melee damage all kits increased by 25-200 points of damage

Batarians: Blade armor: Damage returned base is 300 with the actual damage returned added on after that. max returned damage now 3000 was 2000

tech armor explosion damage increased by 100 points
Barrier explosion/expel damage increased by 100
Singualrity base duration now 15-30sec base radius increase of 0.5-2 meters ( I would so love a radius of 4 meters)

human soldier and BF3 HP increase to shields of 100
AR rush rank 6 evo? shield increase of 100% now 150%

Reactor map replaced by the better hazzard variant. enemies get stuck way less when spawning in the rafters and certain ammo boxes actually work. :)

I mainly play squishy characters, so I've definitely noticed the spike. I hope they fix the health/shield thing so I'm not getting killed in <1 second on Gold.

This is exactly right

Bronze post-patch = Silver pre-patch
Silver post-patch = Gold pre-patch
Gold post-patch and Platinum post-patch are significantly more difficult as well

Whether it's due to a single factor or a combination of factors, the fact is I'm dying a lot more often than before, as are the majority of people I play with.  My skill level hasn't changed and their skill level hasn't changed.  It's the game.
