What, you don't find the idea of changing someone's gender against their will abusive?

Warden: Sten, what happened to your gear?
Sten: Sten's not here right now. Would you like a cookie?
Warden: ......
Later still....
Warden: Sten! Come on buddy, we gotta get ready for the big fight.
Sten: I told you, Sten's not here right now. I think I've mastered Wynne's pie recepie. Here, taste this and tell me if I have it right.
Warden: ARGH! You can still hold a sword idiot!
Wait, what? Sten turns into a woman so he suddenly starts baking? You gotta be sh!ttin me!

I still can't imagine Sten as a woman though.

Other people abusing their games is not your problem. There is no reason for you to care at all about how other people play the game.ammyretsu wrote...
I just think a gender changing feature opens up a lot of realm to people going to abuse it.

If DA3 was a game that had stuff continuously added to it for years and years rather than a few DLC before Bioware throws in the towel and heads to the next thing, yeah, sure, a sex change may be viable because who wants to start a new character and replay through all that? But DA3 may be lucky to get 3-4 single player DLC, probably twice that for multiplayer (if ME3 is any indication), and not be any longer than 80 hours by the time Bioware quits releasing DLC. So .... 80 hours is just over 3 days. Thus 3 days of a single player RPG =/= 100 days of an MMO.
Frankly, I'd rather see the money invested into other things like party banter, combat, scenery, etc rather than a single random feature that few will even use and has no place in a game that has an actual end to it. If DA3 were an MMO, I'd be saying sure. But DA3 is not an MMO. Quality over quantity. I'd rather have fewer features that are good than more features that are half assed. I'd rather have mounted combat with horses than a feature where I can change my character's sex midgame.
If you really really really want this feature, I'm sure some modder will figure out it out eventually. Save game editors usually come out pretty quickly so you can edit it with that. Otherwise, I suggest to figure out how to learn to mod and do it yourself.

When mods do this it's pretty straightforward. With romances, for example, the LIs are typically activated when first met, based on the PC's gender. So those flags would persist, now with a PC of the opposite gender.Allan Schumacher wrote...
I think that this would potentially cause a lot of issues with anything in game that is reactive to the character's gender, and has already occurred in the past and therefore been set.
Well documented, this feature would work well. Poorly documented, it would confuse people.
But since you're going to start documenting your games again (right?), that's not a problem.
