I think it important that we start judging things as soon as possible with as little information as we can manage.

More importantly, I feel they should redo their DLC to meet my expectations about how I'll probably feel about it.

I don't understand this logic, it's a pretty simple complaint. People wanted collectors in single player, they say they won't put them in single player. It's not just about Omega, but no collectors + forced squadmates + high price already ring alarm bells.

I'll play it and judge it, that doesn't mean I have to like all disappointing news I hear about it. So far it's been nothing but bad news.

Omega 4 relay. People saw it as a great opportunity to use the collectors, since they showed up in mp already. And really, if it's going to be a long DLC, a temporary fight inside a collector ship would have been a nice change from fighting nothing but cerberus for many hours of the DLC.

To me, yes. I've never gotten the Cerberus emphasis in ME3. To me, its a silly distraction/filler from the mission. If Omega is just more of this, I'll likely pass.

So now we get to the crux of the issue:  MP got something SP didn't.  I think that's a good thing, since they would serve no purpose in SP.  It doesn't matter what you shoot at in MP, it matters so little that I haven't played MP in months.  However, if I felt an overwhelming urge to fight Collectors, I could just load up MP and go for it.  No need to even further negate ME 2 by including them in ME 3.

Not really. It seems that Cerberus are the main opposition on Omega. I'm fine with that. I am looking forward to seeing the COllectors in future DLC though.. alongside Harbinger, of course.

Collectors or lack of them is pretty much at the bottom of my list of concerns.

There are many things in multiplayer that don't appear in the single player game. That would be like me judging the DLC unfairly because it doesn't let me turn Shepard into one of those Sweet Melee classes I love in MP. Now that you mention it, I am going to judge it harshly for that.

Even though by all logic the Omega DLC would be about events on Omega that we heard about during the game, Bioware should have completely known what I wanted and included it. No swords for me=complete fail.

They're all dead, so why would they be on Omega?

If it had had collectors it seemed like something really interesting could be going on on omega, but now it just sounds like more 'go and shoot cerberus in the face', and personally I don't want that.

Yep, you're exactly right, we might as well retcon ME 2 all the way out of the series, it's not like we accomplished anything there anyway.  Just do me a favor, and remove the ME 2 squadmates too, so people will quit crying about them not turning up enough in ME 3.  I do suppose that is the best way to accomplish that.Image IPB

I voted yes, but it depends how varied the new Cerberus units are. (Also the encounter design, but there's only so much you can do with three units.)

If it's just a couple gimmick fights, then it will be a failure (unless there's no other combat beside those fights; then it wouldn't matter).

Hey, I saw some on the Citadel.  Nope, not providing any evidence, "Because I said so" is good enough, right?

In other words, got some documentation, since we never put boots on Palaven in ME 3?

The Miracle at Palaven

The turian and krogan counterattack on Palaven combined deception, courage, and tenacity. First, the turians leaked a false battle plan that drew on the same tactics they used at beginning of the assault on Palaven. Then the dreadnought Indomitable faked a problem with its drive core, coming out of FTL near Palaven's moon, Menae. Three other dreadnoughts and their attendant fleets deployed to assist Indomitable, a tempting target that drew the Reaper capital ships away from Palaven. Turian troop transports then entered Palaven's atmosphere to release shuttles, gliders, and individual soldier capsules.

The Reapers did not understand the seriousness of the threat at first--those that detected the landing crafts sent husks and Collector swarms to intercept them, but little more. This allowed krogan commandos to link up with Palaven's resistance and hand off their payloads--warp bombs and fission weapons.

In simultaneous strikes across the globe, Reaper ships began to explode. Turian resistance members had managed to smuggle the bombs inside when the Reaper processing ships, troop transports, and even destroyers and capital ships had opened their structures to indoctrinated turian leaders.

Large swaths of territory fell back into turian and krogan control. News of the victory gave a much-needed boost to the morale of the turian resistance and the galactic public.

But the action was not without sacrifice. Turian insurgents gave their lives to ensure the explosives detonated, and the processing centers they destroyed were full of civilians who died just as surely as if they had been harvested. Of the dead, General Minin Resvirix said, "Whatever they were in life, their deaths had no equal. They are worthy of joining the spirit of Palaven itself."

No, we dealt with the collectors (most of them, when they were the biggest threat). why would they be involved with cerberus conquering omega or Aria taking it back?

The merc bands, maybe the patriarch?(if you helped him survive) Helena blake and Fist even. These are the more likely outcomes.

You know correlation is the weakest identification of significance? Just because it's in MP doesn't mean it must be in SP.

Cerberus was the weakest of all the enemies, their motives are contrived and utterly unexplained aside from "they want everything that could help shepard". TIM's goal was to control the reapers....so what does he need a krogan female, biotic children and an alliance fighter squadron for to achieve that goal? Right...nothing at all.

The fact that an entire DLC was made to wrap up a plot that wasn't started in any of the three games (it was started in the novel Invasion) with an antagonist no one knows anything or cares about, is utter rubbish.

There was no reason, no value, to attacking Omega. All it has is criminals since the asteroid is totally strip mined already.

No, but the assets are there.  They were creaqted and added into the game.  It took a lot of work.  And reusing them in single player is an easy way to make that hard work pay off.

If not in Omega, then in a Harbinger DLC.  The Reaper Big Bad and his shock troops together.
