I bought the game when it was first released, and and used the codes in the game case (on this account) so I could access The Stone Prisoner and the Blood Dragon Armor.  Recently I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, still using this account.

Things were fine for a time, but when I moved some of my game files into the BioWare folder (today), it seemed to screw that up.  Now I still see the DLC checked on the DLC screen, but next to Shale and the armor, it says "Unauthorized" even though the box is checked.  The Stone Prisoner is also available for DLC for the 1200 point price.

I was just wondering why this may have happened.  I'm not too terribly distressed over the loss of the armor, but Shale is certainly a nice addition, and I'm wondering if something I did recently may have ruined the content.

EDIT: One thing that I saw on here was my registered game promotions page.  It shows The Edge, the armor and The Stone Prisoner.  Not sure how it's handled, though.  I can't really imagine it'd be a file that I could have deleted earlier, and if it were I've restored most of them.

And now it's not letting me load any of my files because of this very problem.

At least you got something to start with. I just entered the blood dragon armor code, was told it was redeemed, and nothing was made available.

Oh, well ...

I reinstalled the game and now there's no DLC showing up either as available or installed.

Verify that the Dragon Age Origins Content Updater Service is installed and running. Reinstalling the game can interfere with the service.

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

3.) Right click it and select START

If it is not there, or there is an error message you may need to reinstall the service (you don't need to reinstall the whole game.) Instructions can be found in section 3.2.3 of the DLC Troubleshooting sticky

If you preserved the My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age folder then you likely wouldn't need to download all the DLC again, but its possible that it has gotten into a funky state. If so you'll likely need to cleanout any downloaded DLC and start again. Instructions for that are also in the sticky

Here is my (now succesful) story:
- I had several (now succesfully solved, thanks for this forum) problems with DLC before first download
- first I got Dragon Armor downloaded, but had problems with authorization (couldn't load my save after succesful DLC)
- I decided to DLC also Stone Prisoner, but it didn't started to download, and that's why I checked if my update server was running.  It was not, so I starteed it manually (that's why the quote), it copied Stone Prisoner, and for my suprice, ALSO CONNECTED ME TO DAO SERVER and now I could load my save and both DLCs are authorized

Of course I don't know if this helps other people with same situation, but it is easy and quick to try...

P.S. because I got (so far) my troubles to go away, I suppose that I can grunt (?) a little:
- I was quite frustrated when I couldn't continue my game and mostly because I couldn't found out any solution from developers. It seems to me that game has been sold so well that real support is not necessary. Of course I might be wrong, but so far I'm not buying extra material for DAO.

This is really stupid. Now I have to start updater service manually every time I like to play DAO. If I set service start "Automatic" or "Automatic (delayed start)" (not sure terms, I don't have English OS), I can't start my internet service.

Let's see how long I like to play.

I'm sorry to say that I am not happy with how this game fuctions with regards to the DLC. I had no issues with Mass Effect 2 but with this I do. I have paid for so much of the DLC of this game and now I can't even play it. The biggest issue for me is that in the country I am you pay for 1gig more that what you would for 400 points in this game. So if I have an issue with the game they recommend I uninstall it and reinstall AND download it all? WTF its too expensive. The content is there, its obviously some error in the coding of their security application. I mean why do they have to check, I logged in with my account and pass and that should tell the game all it needs to know i.e. I am a valid member and I have paid for this content. They can even just allow for one login and thats it but now checking each addon module...? This is service for you... (sorry for rant but really)

I was having the same problems and the EA support team were no help. This is how I fixed it though: press windows button + r to have the run window pop up. Type in services.msc and go to the Dragon Age updater. Click on the program twice and check the file it is executing from. Mine was trying to update the deleted game file, so then I ran the run window again and typed regedit. From there I went to this location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\DAOUpdater and changed the executable file to the current file my game is under. You may need to navigate the game's files to find the right one but it should be under bin_ship.
