Actually, what I appreciate most (besides the smoking hawt accent and all that) is while she is a spiritual/religious character, she also has the ability to reject the dogma of the chantry where it conflicts with her own disposition/faith. I contrast her to Ashley from ME: also somewhat religious but with a far more 'fundamentalist' attitude, IMO. I would love to know Liliana IRL, but I really can't be bothered with the Ashley's of the world. I thought some of the banter with Morrigan was great: on both sides. Morrigan the decided atheist and Leliana the deliberately optimistic theist. For me, it was really pleasant to have a much more 'sympathetic' character to spend time with in game. I think there's more depth to her story than some folks credit.

But yeah, whoever wrote her, bloody good job! Now, get to work writing more of her for DA2! ;) (Please) :)

Hottest in the Dalish Armor set, although yes that armor does match her eye color :)

That accent gets me everytime! <3

I actually started out disliking the voice of Leliana from the few moments that it was heard in trailer. But I have since corrected the error of my ways. :innocent:

Dang, too bad she doesn't giggle like that with characters I enjoy bringing along. That was addictive.

She's a bit too chatty for a quiet person like myself, but I like her anyway. She's a sweetheart despite her past.

Whoever on the writing team wrote Leliana's lines: I think I love you.
Even if you're a 50 year old bloke. I love you.
Every time I try to play a bastard or a mercenary or a b****, I talk to Leliana and am converted.  Even in her bad Bard mode, she makes me want my character to be with her.
Third run through now and the same thing has happened. Again.

While I'm afraid I'm already spoken for, I do have to admit that they did a standout job on Leliana. I actually ended up breaking off a romance with Morrigan so that I could switch to Leliana, and she was literally the only character in my team who spent the whole game in my personal squad. A very deep, likeable character with insane versatility and great voiceover work.

Her whole rant about Ferelden shoes and the way she treated her bunny-pig was hilarious. :D

Leliana got bearable once I figured out it's actually possible to turn her away from the Chantry and belief in the Maker.

Yeah, I felt the same way as most here about Leliana.  Her character showed me what cunning and gaining influence is all about.  I think that if Leliana could have just talked to the Darkspawn then the whole silly Blight business could have been solved--she'd have them finding her those subterranean bunny-pigs in no time.
Here's info on the author.

Busy with my first playthrough and yes I do like her. A good pairing for my good 'Knight' char.

Next playthrough I'll play a barbaric human or psycho Dwarf... think I'll chase after Morganna in that case and sent the cute Bard of :P

Strange, everytime I hear her voice I get the opposite effect of the OP, where I then want to take the evil route.

I hate leliana's character. She takes forever to put out, is overly possessive, and obviously cannot look past her own interests, and ignorantly believes maker BS. She's not very attractive and her voice sounds like she's got peanut butter stuck to the roof of her mouth. She superficially likes ridiculous orlesian fashion and her singing is atrocious.

Actually, it is VERY easy to romance Liliana.

A few gifts and a little bit of chatting, and she will be making the first move on you before you know it (you will have to find out what that is yourself). My female human noble warrior and her were quite a pair (and will be again in another playthrough for things I missed).

Lelianas voice is so special. I played on German first, were she was just average. Then I switched to english. The first few dialogues I didnt like her accent, but I fell in love with it pretty soon.

I noticed all the companions have wrinkles on their foreheads when the talk. You just notice Lelianas cuz they do so many close ups of her face.

I was thinking the same thing when I found it. I think he looks like a lich and the color scheme reminds me of the mage light.

not only that but the background reminds me of Alyeid ruins and the green light reminds of the green fire they had occasionally.

Wow. I'd actually forgotten what un-modded Leliana looks like.
