Okay, I've heard this before, but if Morrigan isn't Flemeth's biological daughter, why doesn't she correct Alistair when he tells her she looks just like Flemeth?

I don't specifically remember this. Are you sure it wasn't intended as a (clumsy) sarcastic jab on Alistair's part? He and Morrigan don't really get along or like each other very much.

Here we go -

(forgive the lazy linkage - I'm in a hurry).

Yeah--I think that's pretty much exactly how I called it.

I'm definitely not saying it's proof of anything, but it definitely shows some insecurity on Morrigan's part about her parentage. She wouldn't have passed up the opportunity to make Alistair look like a fool if she knew it had no basis.

Morrigan with her dark, dark hair and her pale, pale skin doesn't appear anything like the majority of Fereldens, not so much like Flemeth, and most certainly not like the Wilders. I would guess that she is of mingled heritage: a Frozen Sea islander heritage comingled with Rivaini heritage, strange at such might seem.

As to Eluvians, two points. Eluvians might be an imitation (or re-invented) technology as we must note that there were vast civilizations predating known origins to cultures. Also, these elves might not be descended from the Elvhaan at all but rather resemble them.

Finally, have you ever asked yourself , in regards to the Golden City, what other materials are golden in hue but are not gold itself? Something magical. Something like an icon found in an ancient dwarven horde. Something that begins with an L. I'm not saying it's the lyrium we're all acquainted with but perhaps it looks very similarly to our lyrium.

I think that is complete rubbish. It is -believe it or not- possible for a man and woman to be alone without sex being involved. And Its already been stated in the comic's what Flemeth wanted from Maric, and it had nothing to do with him giving her a child.

EDIT. This is just a theory on my part. But perhaps Flemeth told Maric he'd have another son, and in return for his help.....promised to rescue him in exchange for Maric's help.
Just a thought.

Oh. I can just see Maric sleeping with Flemeth because he's so incredibly amorously directed to toothless old hags that could incinerate him with sorcery. That's Maric for you.

I've often wondered this myself. They also share similar features like their eyes.

It just makes me believe that Flemeth and Morrigan had their own agenda and now Morrigan has her own. A lot of shades of grey in those two characters...hard to say who they really align with. I really hope Morrigan and Flemeth play a major part in DA3...

I don't think Morrigan is human just like Flemeth.

I'm tired of the questions lingering in my head about them.

We've seen red lyrium, blue lyrium, and bluish-purple lyrium sand, but no gold lyrium.

There's this:

Which becomes this:

It seems to me that the red is the lyrium.

I don't believe Alistar & Morrigan are siblings or that Morrigan is Flemeth's real daughter.

Reason I don't think Alistar & Morrigan are siblings is that when the Dark Ritual comes up in Origins Morrigan will either do it with your Warden if he's male or Alistar (disturping thought if they turn out to be siblings)

I doubt that what Flemeth wanted from Maric was a child but something that will play a part in DA3.

The comics already revealed what Flemeth wanted from Maric.

... but that doesn't prove that they didn't do it. Or that they did. So I guess the possibility's on the table, even if the only evidence we have for it is that they were alone for awhile. *shrug*

We get it, BioWare. You hate the Dalish and you want to stick it to them every chance you can get. Please stop it.)

That's a frightening persecution complex you got there. Bioware made the Dalish. If they didn't like them they'd write them out the stories completely.

Actually, that gives more credit to the theory that Morrigan might be Flemeth's and Maric's daughter. They didn't need Maric specifically. They just need what he carries, and what all his children would carry as well. We all know how good Flemeth is at setting up backup plans. What's a better backup plan than one started decades in advance?

Not to mention, one where you raised it yourself....

Woot! for old Arthurian legends right!?

It's a pity that the OGB, with Alistair as the father, can't be canon. It would be a nice storyline if the OGB would stake a claim to the Ferelden throne based on his bloodline. Not to mention him and Morrigan killing either Anora or Alistair to get the crown, and the political plays getting the Arls in line as well.

One can dream...

sorry, but firstly:

the both would not know for the ritual...flemeth is not talking (not to Morrigan any way) and alistair has no way of knowing, as his father sent him away to eamon (probably because he was firstly a vulnerability and secondly he might have thought he was doing good by him)

secondly:

hot blooded heterosexual male here, so I would not let alistair have "all the fun" now :) - even if my LI was Leliana...I justify it by wanting to be alive at the end of the game and my LI not wanting me dead either!

greetings LAX

His blood. So if Morrigan were Maric's, she'd have no use for Maric nor Alistair.

You're right.  I could've sworn when I first laid eyes on the idol, it was golden and I nearly salivated out of my eyes.  Dear god, it was beautiful as a pair of sleeping uncooked cats.  And I remember vividly that when Bartrand (clever fellow) plucked up the idol, he stepped into a gloomy area in the room and the idol turned black.

That's when I got the idea: the Golden City was made out of a strange form of lyrium.

Only none of that was actually what was shown.  The idol was never gold, it never turned black (even suggestively) in Bertrand's fingers.

Of course, maybe it's just a conspiracy.  Something's being hidden?  It's that idol that's being hidden.  It's mine, I tell you.  Mine.  You're hiding it from me, aren't you!

Depends on which version of the tale there's one where Mordred is concieved out of Arthur raping his sister and one were she tricks him into screwing her as part of a sceam to take his throne and I think one where Mordred is magically created.

But she has no interest in the throne so that'd be a moot issue.
