In my experience, Lone Wolves have been solid to good players. Matter of fact, anyone with a banner has been, at the very least, decent so far
OP maybe has had an unlucky streak? All the lone wolves I've played recently (though they were very few, I admit) have been amazing players.

"Lone wolf" is the only challenge that requires patience, all other challenges can be achieved by brute force, grinding, so : no "Warning: suicidal Rambo" is the only thing that will even get you killed in Bronze solo. You are quite overinterpreting things biased on a handfull of occasions. Not a good thing imo.
Ummm ... that's why I asked the question. I'm not overinterpreting, I was wondering if I was just having bad luck or if anyone else seems to find Lone Wolves have a tendency towards running off, getting killed and executed.
If EVERYBODY had turned round and said "HELL NO, a Lone Wolf saved my puppy" - I'd simply conclude I've just got unlucky with the few I'd met thus far.

Then the title of this thread is misleading, it should be "My experiences with lone wolves" or sth. I´m just getting this vibe from your first post that you already have made up your mind about it.

I'm not a top score player though. if anything soloing has made me more cautious and worry about survivability.

After many trial and error solo gold runs I managed to beat gold reapers with a SE on White.
Well placed decoys in doorways saved my booty a dozen times each wave lol

I've actually noticed pretty much everyone dying alot more since the DLC so that might be it?

I played the N7 Demolisher for the first time yesterday, and I was droping left, right and center because I was having so much fun camping my pylon and grenade spamming... Which of course got me killed more often than not.

But I noticed, quite a few people do not like having Lone Wolves int he lobby. They either kick them or leave themselves.
Yeah, this has happened to me a couple of times.
The most recent one was earlier today. Joined a random match and it was Firebase Ghost (hazard) against Collectors on Silver. It was round 2 and there were two other people, one a Turian Havoc and the other a Human Male Adept. I take it they knew each other as they were both chatting away.
Anyway, I pretty much carried them through wavs 5, 6 and 9 as they both died. They helped me a couple of times by telling me if something was creeping up on me (looking at you, Possessed Abomination) but when the match ended and we got back into the lobby, one of them kicked me and then the other one kicked me.
Stuff like that doesn't bother me as it's easy to find another game. I just wish people would tell you why or at least say "thanks" before giving me the boot..
I've never been kicked because of it, but i have experienced people leave as soon as I go into the lobby.
I've also had the situation where people have changed to lower level characters, when I entered it was all 19/20's next minute its all 12/13 and even a 1... <_<

I honestly thought this thread was about me. Right after equipping my lone wolf banner last night I proceeded to do the 3-4 worst games of my lifeI think the banner is cursed.
This. That's why I changed my banner to from lone wolf to monster. I think there are higher expectations placed upon lone wolves, and their own "lone wolf"ishness gets to their head. Purely psychological, but maybe it does make people act like morons. They may have expectations to outdo other non-lone wolves. Just because you soloed gold twice with your kroguard vs geth, doesn't make you an immortal god in bronze. Sheesh. You have to play intelligently no matter what the situation is.

In fact I think someone should start a counter thread with the equally accurate claim that "any pug not sporting a Lone Wolf banner have a 95% chance of being utter garbage".

I've only been in games with a handful of people with the Lone Wolf banner... but good grief.
First time I thought, "Ah hah, Lone Wolf, someone who knows what they're doing - good oh" ... now I'm beginning to suspect Lone Wolf means "I am going to Rambo it, fall over and get stomped on before the team can get to me and then, when I fail to top the scoreboard, quit as soon as the match is over".
Lone Wolves NEVER use cover. Lone Wolves never ressurect. Lones Wolves never provide cover.
Na, it´s not that bad, but most lone wolves seem to be a bit ... stupid? I think all the lone wolfing made them forget teamplay.

It would be really sad, that one of the banners should fall into
oblivion because you would avoid it, based on expectations other players
could have about you. It was a similar thing with some of the
weapons/classes that were consistently bashed on this forums as
noob-tubes (Krysae), damages hoses (typhoon) or
win-filtrators(especially GI), that I don`t see often any more simply
while everyone seems to think to much about what other people might be
thinking, based on pure speculations.

No shield boosts, even to keep himself alive.
Annoying as hell.
Last pizza delivery? 40 seconds left. The fat ass didn't seem to care. Came at about 50k points. Died around ~15 times for sure.
I get that you want to shoot and all, but isn't better for ANYONE you senseless troll.

This whole thread reeks of "banner jealousy". I've played with a bunch of Lone Wolves, myself included and they were all descent players.

If you say so ... I don't do solo really - well apart from the odd bronze for experimental purposes (e.g. trying to see if it's possible to trigger Fire Explosions with Carnage > Charge on the Kroguard ... it isn't the cooldown on Carnage is too long) and I generally quit after a few rounds unless a friend randomly drops into my "private" game.
So since Retaliation was released I have completed exactly 0 solo games... I strongly suspect that will continue to be the case, maybe the odd bronze if I'm killing time before tea or something.
Maybe random Lone Wolves are just as random as any other random... e.g. some will still suck even though they've managed to solo gold a couple of times. It seems I've just met sucky or overconfident ones at the moment judging by the replies.
... which actually answers my question, apparently not all Lone Wolves are suicidal, just the ones I've met so far.
