Unable to connect to database problem...

Hi, my toolset was working fine last night, and has been all week, then today all of a sudden I get the error "Unable to connect to the database etc..."

I have not been able to solve this problem using the threads in the forum I tried that DAToolsetFix batch program but that just tells me a bunch of files already exist blah.

It seems very strange that it should work fine one day then screw up the next.

Any help would be appreciated I am not stupid nor computer illiterate but it seems you need a very high IQ to even begin to grasp some of the concepts and file structures that this program uses and my brain is starting to hurt...

help? anyone...:crying:

Right I just spent about 3 hrs on that before posting the above problem then minutes later I found that If I :

Start Task Mgr,

Select 'Services' tab

Click 'Name' to sort alphabetically

scroll down til I find the service 'MSSQL$BWDATOOLSET'

If its status is 'Stopped'

Right click, then 'Start Service' - 'MSSQL$BWDATOOLSET' status should now be 'Running'

try to boot toolset from original shortcut,

AMAZING! it worked for me.:lol:

(running Win7 32bit on a HP laptop)
