The Reapers aren't involved in every case. Only the major ones that could threaten the security of the galaxy majority.

It's similar to how the court systems work today. Where they range from regional to federal.

Really?  So that's the future we have to look forward to is Reapers as the special victims unit?  Are Reapers going to pass a clean air act and send Reaper-auditors into my factory because migrant space fleas from Illium are harmed by my cosmic waste dumping too!

Geez first its the County, then the State, then the Feds, now the damn Reaps wanna audit me too!!

They're not a government. They're a military force at this point. Probably won't be permanent as society evolves.

Once the Reapers serve their purpose they will no longer be needed.

Right, they would be a military junta in effect.  Sulla, Ivan the Terrible, Pol Pot... Robo-shep!

I WILL REMEMBER THE MAN WHO GAVE HIS LIFE SO THAT THE MANY COULD LIVE...

... AS MY SLAVES!

Nice headcanon. The Paragon Control dialogue is pretty ambigiuous. You could easily interpret much of what ReaperShep says as the Reapers being used as tools to rebuild the galaxy and ensure galactic peace. That doesn't necessarily mean peace through violence..

war is peace. 2 +2 is 5.

Yea and we magically don't see that in the Control epilogue.

Yeah you still create a sort of Martyr by wiping out a whole race, no matter how violant they are, and proveing ones worth to a galaxy who views you as the buggymen would be hard if they hate you, sure you fixed the galaxy, but who caused all of it, who harvested and killed trillions, and whose very existance is a mere abominations, The Reapers, and before you go into that it was all the Catalyst's fault, the Reapers are still responcible for all thet action and would be viewed no different then before shep decided to use said abominations to do what it thinks is the greater good, after all what's the face of the enemy Mecha-Cthulu or the Bieber Ghost to eveyone in the galaxy. Just on a side note the Krogan are still sympathetic, atleast more sympathetic then Genocidal Cuttlfish that tried to PRESERVE all life in the galaxy.

I don't plan on wiping out the krogan, just reducing their ability to make war.

... After you completely ignored posts and focused on the totally crucial, controversial, ethically rife issue of Reaper suspect apprehension procedure and Vorca social skills and i called you out!

You seem to be slipping further into insanity. Kindly repeat the point you claim I ignored.

Yeah, so you won't kill all the Krogan just Crush their arms and legs so they can't stand against you, I'm just saying it still sounds like a dictator like view and will most likely get the same results from the people, planned revolution or war against the ruling dictator, Sometimes when one who is viewed as the Villain/Terror of the Galaxy tries to be good and be the upright gaurdian, they are still viewed and treated as the villain, even when they do good, said actions could be viewed as the reapers just showing off their power and saying, obey and follow me or else.

Actually, if the krogan don't build up a new battlefleet, it probably won't ever become a problem at all.

To expand on my earlier point of so, after every war there is a dark age, where what was destroyed must be rebuilt, often at great expense and time. Look at history, WWII and WWI and what it took to rebuild after that, the civil war and the destruction on both sides, the revolutionary war and the times of great strife, the countless european and asian wars that decimated entire continents with it's aftermath.

It's just a natural part of war, one can't avoid needing to rebuild after a great and destructive conflict as one could simply choose to not pay taxes or try and stop the tides from coming in.

Yeah, war's ugly.  ME3 tells the story of the biggest, most destructive war ever, so the aftermath will be that much more difficult to get through.  Entire worlds lie in ruin, billions are dead, and the Relay network is badly damaged.

The only difference is that in Synthesis and Control, the Reapers are here to help!  Those Reapers sure are nice guys!

Well, we made the japanese and germans help rebuild in WW2, so really it's more business as usual. There's always the chance they'll become a problem again in the future, but for now they are not. Destroy makes them a zero possibility threat, you gain nothing from them but the chances of losing from them are also zero, as is most situations like that.

Sorry, if this doesn't match what you belive, than please say so. This is merely my outlook on it, not meant to be a hard over encompasing "this is the way it is" kind of statement.

I think that's what Destruction boils down to: it's the low-risk scenario.

Nah bro, I'm fine with it.  I was agreeing with you before--I just made the crack about the Reapers to be an ass.

To some extent, yeah.

of course.  the relays are still damaged. No reapers. No synthesis.
A lot of people probably die.  It takes a long time to fix a mass relay w/o reaper understanding.

And theres still that whole synthetic life thing looming down the line.... no referees to break up the war this time around.  dont forget, Legion's positive consensus toward organics was unique; only if Shepard shows interest (by doing his side-missions, etc) in legion and the geth, does it result in geth trust.  otherwise, synthetics ARE just untrusting of organics and wish our destruction.  Think how all the non imported people percieved this...?

I haven't read much of this thread, but yes it is something of a dark age. But then things would get rebuilt and imo turn out better than before because they were the peoples own achievements rather than hand me downs from an ancient culture.

Op, you have got your facts wrong, we were in a Dark Age galaxy before we killed the reapers.

After killing the reapers with the destroy ending we have started the age of freedom which will take many years to achieve for the simple reason that our galaxy was just an experiment for the last few million years.
For all we know our creator could be the catalyst experimenting on us so basically all the different races in our galaxy could just be an experiment of the intelligence.

The only way out is to destroy the catalyst and the reapers as well as the Leviathans so we get control of our galaxy and start to stop the experiment.

We were leaving in the Dark Age and we did not even know, so now we seek freedom at any cost.

Edit: if you pick any of the other 2 endings you failed as far as i am concerned because you will still remain in the experimented galaxy.

Nope, Destroy isn't a dark age. The races of the galaxy are free to rebuild, redesign, evolve and progress as they see fit.

Control is a dark age. The races of the galaxy are presided over by an immortal, infinite all-seeing overlord, with an unstoppable army of Reapers at it's disposal. You've heard of the phrase "God-fearing folk", right? Well now imagine if instead of believing in the existence of a higher power, you knew as a demonstrated fact that the higher power not only existed, but was willing and capable of taking a hand in day to day event.

All hail The Shepard, our protector and saviour. Thou shalt NOT undertake scientific research into AI technology, under pain of huskification.

Still can't see what's so bad about it.

People still have FTL drives and most of them will be too busy rebuilding their own homes to go out on a trip to the other side of the galaxy.

The rebuilding of the mass relays may take its time, but at least it's guaranteed.
