Nope, Destroy isn't a dark age. The races of the galaxy are free to rebuild, redesign, evolve and progress as they see fit.

Control is a dark age. The races of the galaxy are presided over by an immortal, infinite all-seeing overlord, with an unstoppable army of Reapers at it's disposal. You've heard of the phrase "God-fearing folk", right? Well now imagine if instead of believing in the existence of a higher power, you knew as a demonstrated fact that the higher power not only existed, but was willing and capable of taking a hand in day to day event.

All hail The Shepard, our protector and saviour. Thou shalt NOT undertake scientific research into AI technology, under pain of huskification.

Yep destroy is not a dark age just a setback. Rebuilding will happen and society will be free to progress. Control is a repressive stagnation presided over by a dictator and his army of heavies.

What's worse is that the EC slides directly contradict what this topic says.

Use your freaking eyes people.

Even in the best endings, the relay network is still severely damaged.  In the other two endings, the Reapers are there to help rebuild.  In destroy, the races on on their own. They'll recover, but it'll take much longer.

Ergo, "dark age"

That's like saying the 50's were a Dark Age in Europe and Asia. It wasn't particularly great, but it pretty much makes the term meaningless.

As far as I know, BW said at the SDCC that it will take ten to fifteen years to rebuild in all of the endings. That would be a very short dark age ;)

If one at all. Which it isn't.

Unless people suddenly stop learning new things and stop wanting to learn things, then it's a set back. Not a dark age. People totally ignored the fact that a dark age is not defined by how intact society is but rather how smart they are.

People often also ignore that the Dark Age was primarily limited to Europe, as the Middle East and Asia were undergoing golden ages in progress and development at the time.
