There are SO MANY THREADS about being disconnected in the middle of the game. WHY isn't there ANYTHING done to address this almost game-breaking issue???

First, no one joins the game in like 5 minutes. Okay.
Second, I started up a few games, and on my third try where I was the only player, I got disconnected. Okay.
And again, after updating something finally people joined up, we started a round, and during wave 4, I got disconnected (as the host).
I can imagine how annoyed the guys were who joined the game.
Probably even more annoyed than I am.

ME3 is very time consuming. Platinum game takes 30mins, gold takes 20, 10 minutes to find a "quick match", 5 to activate your game... And then everything goes to hell because of a conection issue.
But thats fine. Lost my consumables, lost my credits on extraction wave, but moving on... Trying to get back at the same lobby, game takes 3-4 minutes to get in the multiplayer menu (I used a stopwatch to time this). Good, I'm in now, lets get back with my friends and then I can't join them because of the "Joining forever" issue. Ohh lets all restart the game again...

Most of the problems are centered around an individual's personal connection and not the server. Believe it or not, most issues are a result of the player's IP. Signal congestion, packet loss, server distance between hubs, player/player connectivity, ports on modems/routers, upload and download speeds are not BioWare's to fix. These are issues with the networks you're connected to and are unfortunately not something a game developer can account for.

Most people, especially Americans, are in denial about the crap quality (especially given the cost) of their internet. There's a lot more to it than just up/down speed and ping.

BW can't do anything about your own internet.
The entire system of being required to connect to their servers during a game seems like some contractual obligation. I don't like it either.

I don't understand what's preventing credits from being awarded for each 'paid' wave completed.
1.Play to wave ten.
2. Complete objective.
3. Host leaves & wave 10 restarts.
4. Invite host back.
5. Repeat.
6. ????
7. Profit.
Also, to OP: there are indeed so many threads about disconnect. Chances are by now a dev may have even read one or two, and they are working on a solution/can do absolutely nothing about your poor internet connection.

So yeah, unless there is something at my IP trying to troll-me with EA, I don't believe the problem is here.

Half the time I don't even make it to wave 10, I make it to wave 6 or so, and lose all the credits I just tried to earn.
Edit: Can Bioware see how many times we play a given wave? Or no?
There's nothing to be done to prevent exploitation?

Easily overcome by tracking whether credits have been awarded for objective waves. The abuse would be people quitting after leeching to wave 3 on Platinum matches. I could think of ways to overcome this as well (as we have in previous iterations of this type of thread), but BioWare has said they won't give credits on disconnect because of the potential for exploitation.Pressedcat wrote...

Its your internet, not EA/BioWare. Ive only been disconected once since I started playing.
Not for me.
My laptop will have an uninterrupted connection.
Meanwhile I'll be disconnected from ME3 3-4 times in like ten minutes of ME3.
My laptop and PS3 work off of the same access point, router and modem.
I also don't get disconnected from other games like this.

Hahaha, no, no it's not. Otherwise, why would Origin in the background say, "Offline Mode", while everything else on the computer works perfectly fine?
