There are SO MANY THREADS about being disconnected in the middle of the game. WHY isn't there ANYTHING done to address this almost game-breaking issue???

Oh by the way, for those that say my connection has issues, this is my speedtest to the other side of the world:

I think that's acceptable. So no.

Dude whats up with you're ping, it's terrible.

Honestly no clue man, I guess there was some issue with the server I picked in the USA for testing. :P
Well it WAS western usa and I'm in Europe so I guess that's at least slightly okay.

This is what the nearest point would tell me :P

Oh no wonder nice speed there, is it fiber optic?

Just got kicked out of a game due to Origin having a hissy fit. I know when my connection goes down because steam will go down too. Clearly Origin isn't up the job as it will randomly log you off, guaranteed. If Bioware weren't owned EA I'd tell them to dump Origin and move onto Steam. I may sound like a fanboy but Origin is at the stage where steam was back in 2004/05 when it first launched. Pretty pathetic for a large corporation and damn right annoying for a paying customer.

I used to think it was my internet, but i've been playing BL2 since that came out in co-op, play for hours at a time and no disconnects. For some reason I cant make it through 2 or 3 games consistently. It's a waste of time and effort, I love the game but not enough to keep getting screwed by the servers.

Sorry - forgot to mention I connect through the ethernet port to a wireless router.

Happens to me everyday without fail. I won't even attempt the lone wolf challenge because if it. I did a speed test and everything is fine. My ping is at 33, DL speed is around 40 Mbps and upload at around 5 Mbps. It is 100% not my ISP. If it were, I would lose connection to XBL as well, but I do not. It is on EA/BW's end. That is that and it's getting to the point were I don't wanna play this game anymore. The fact that nobody has commented or even taken the time to hear us out is bad business. Even if they couldn't fix it, at least let us know what is up.

The sad reality is, ea just doesn't give a f*** since it already got your money.

Most of the problems are centered around an individual's personal connection and not the server. Believe it or not, most issues are a result of the player's IP. Signal congestion, packet loss, server distance between hubs, player/player connectivity, ports on modems/routers, upload and download speeds are not BioWare's to fix. These are issues with the networks you're connected to and are unfortunately not something a game developer can account for.

I'm sure there are people here who will say Im wrong and could very well be, but I don't think Im too far off base.

Most people, especially Americans, are in denial about the crap quality (especially given the cost) of their internet. There's a lot more to it than just up/down speed and ping.

You couldn't have just ended it with "most people"? Did you really need to make such an ignorant comment?

To those saying it is not on EA/Biowares end could how about this. I can count on one hand the amount of times I have dropped connection playing EA Fifa or NHL in the past few years. Or how about a recent game. I've put in over 50+ hours on Borderlands 2. I have not had one hiccup or disconnection whatsoever. Matter a fact my ISP has been excellent for the past 8+ years I have lived in my home. It has been down less than 5 times that I can recall. I have never had connection issues with my XBOX or PC for any reason. This is the only game that I have ever seen this amount of disconnects whether it be the host or off host is this game but people are saying it could be your ISP. I don't think so.

OP should change the name of his thread title, assuming Bioware can fix the problem,'to something along the lines of "when will Bioware figure out and/or finish fixing the issues concerning server disconnects?" you really think because it's not fixed yet they haven't been doing anything about it?

I used to disconnect constantly then I clicked on the origin troubleshooting tab on their client. After modifying my firewall to allow some ports access. I haven't discoonected since. It's kinda fishy that bioware doesn't mention this on the forums and makes me think origin is creepy and monitoring my pc.

Out of curiousity, what ports? I only have a router, and considering I can play without any modifications to it, maybe that could help. I'm sorta pissed whenever this happens, and yesterday it was unbearable, so anything that can help is appreciated.

If u click on the help tab on the Origin client and click on "Origin Help" you can scroll down to the EA Games section.  There is a mass effect 3 tab there.  Scroll down to troubleshooting and there is a network troubleshooting guide.  Here I copy pasted it for u:

"NETWORK TROUBLESHOOTING FOR MASS EFFECT 3 MULTIPLAYER

If you're encountering connectivity issues with Mass Effect 3, a good first step is to ensure the proper ports are opened. The UDP Ports that need to be enabled inbound & outbound to play multi-player:

UDP Ports: 5659, 6000
Using a restricted connection (such as NAT 3) can cause problems hosting a game. You will be able to create a lobby, but no one will be able to join it via quick match since Match Making will identify you as a “bad host”. However, if you invite your friend directly, you will be able to join without any problem. You should be able to join other games without any problem. More troubleshooting steps for network connections can be found at https://help.ea.com/...n-to-ea-servers
"

I'm quite computer ignorant and I dont know what a NAT 3 is or what those ports do, but I do know that enabling those ports has fixed my multiplayer disconnect issue.

THIS IS TOTAL BS, NONE OF IT WILL HELP YOU!

THOSE ARE WRONG PORTS!

Port forwarding will not help with disconnects, but it will allow you to join your friend's game even if you or your friend have a strict firewall.

Use the link in my signature for the correct port (there is only one) and more info on network problems.;)

Sorry, wasn't trying to be misleading, was just sharing what I found
fixed my problem from the Origin help troubleshooter (I used to
disconnect constantly on extraction waves).  Like I said, I'm not very
computer knowledgeable so I don't know the difference in what the ports
do.

There isn't a "Fix ALL the THINGS!" button BioWare can hit.

Problems with Origin also isn't something BioWare can simply fix too. Not to mention, there are plenty of otherr problems to be fixed and content to create.

Thats a hell of an excuse.

Since we can't play the game without Origin, its BioWare responsability to make sure it works. Their fault? Maybe not, but sure as heck its not a problem they can say "screw it, not mine".

And this is not someone whining at day 1 for a magic fix. Three patchs later, problem is here, we're still losing credits, equiments and time because the EA servers can't hold me.

Truth is, BioWare doesn't give a **** about PC. I don't blame them. Consoles sold 3x more than PC. But I did pay full price for mine, so here we are.

Uh, no. Just because BioWare is an EA studio does not give them control over Origin. Blame EA, if anyone. Also, you aaren't doing any good making conspiracies about BioWare intentions. Unless you have a memo from BioWare that says "Everyone: screw the PC players", then simply throwing dirt on their work ethics isn't going to prove anything or get anything done.

Well they never ever bothered to respond about it either.

Not even a "we are sorry for the inconvencience but there is nothing we can do" or anything.
They just glance at a thread, and say, "ugh, this thread again, let's just skip it because who cares this glitch makes our game suck".

I like the gameplay of ME3, but this seriously degrades its value.

Honestly, I cannot recommend the game to others, because buying a game with this many disconnections is just utterly ridiculous. That shouldn't happen past beta, hell it shouldn't happen in beta.
Although I play from time to time, on many occasions it just angers me.

I've noticed that most of my disconnections are related to Origin losing its connection to the EA servers. When I alt-tab, my internet connection is still there, but Origin says I'm offline. So I'm not sure it's a problem with the ME3 servers. I blame Origin.

For those who speaking about poor connection.

I am sitting directly beside a backbone, having a 100/5 Mbit Cabel connection.

And the one and only game i have problems with disconnects is, guess, ME3.

And no, I have also no probs with the specs of my PC. For example, I play BF3 on super duper mega quality with stable 120 fps on full HD. I make once a week a driver check.

So, smart asses, it is not all about clientside.

And it is just frustrating, u played close to 20 minutes, lost ur loadout and u don't get ur own credits. If Bioware don't want to improve the masterserversystem or whatever, they could at least save the loadout and the credits you earned until the played wave.

I have a fantastic and fast connection. Any other game and it's unheard of, but this one? I get about 50/50 and they're usually on wave ten or eleven. It is close to game breaking for me and the lack of acknowledgment from bioware is frustrating. Be it origin's issue or no, It'd be nice to get some formal response.

It's not your fault, not what I meant, that help page was just wrong. It has been fixed now, check it again!;)
You are probably experiencing a placebo effect if it somehow 'helped' you, because those ports aren't used at all.:?

Just make sure you die or let time run out on wave 3 after you get your melee medal so you don't get screwed by the servers.

I don't understand what's preventing credits from being awarded for each 'paid' wave completed. :(

1.Play to wave ten.
2. Complete objective.
3. Host leaves & wave 10 restarts.
4. Invite host back.
5. Repeat.
6. ????
7. Profit.

Also, to OP: there are indeed so many threads about disconnect. Chances are by now a dev may have even read one or two, and they are working on a solution/can do absolutely nothing about your poor internet connection.

Solution: Give credit to players at the beggining of next wave. Would be that bad?

That's pretty much what I said, it works if you provide the credits at wave 4, 7 and 11.
