Day 9. Just got home, tried it out.
Guess I'm not gonna be able to take part in the new operation because EA can't get their **** fixed.

Ok, when I tried to put in the DNS thing, it said elevation required. WTF?
Been a month, for me. From Ireland, with ****.
It means you need to run cmd.exe in adminstrator mode, nobody has reported the whole DNS thing to work for them anyway, its just generic EA response number 5. You spend time resetting your computer (and disconnecting any support chat you have open) and another 3 days can go by before they respond again to any email saying the game is not working

*facepalm* So it DOESN'T work anyway. *sigh*
PS: Anyone notice how many threads there are about connection issues and how LONG they all are? You'd think someone at Bioware/EA would notice that...

Day 10.
Still nothing. I've run through all the troubleshooting, there's nothing left for me to try.
If this reaches two weeks, then you just lost a customer. I don't care if you have Mass Effect or Dragon Age, if your customer support is this bad, then I just don't want to deal with it.

Anyone get anything close to a legitimate fix from support yet?

Why can't anyone with EA or Bioware just come out and say that they're aware of the issue and working on a solution? I don't understand why this isn't even being acknowledged..

That's one of the most frustrating parts of this, all you can do atm is just log in and hope it works today or that something is being done

it's obvious they are very aware of the problems with Origin.
Bioware is probably just as frustrated as we are about Origin though they'll never say that. EA owns BW , not the opposite.

I know this does not really help anyone but yesterday, Sunday morning, around 11:00 ADST, I actually got connected to the EA servers twice. First time I played for around 20 minutes but decided to quit and see if I could get back in again. I did the 2nd time as well. But today, Monday, I cannot get to the EA servers again. So I have a freshly started game which included authorized DLC which cannot be played yada yada yada.
On a separate note I got the latest response from the EA support team:
Thank you for you response I understand completely how you feel about this situation and I am truly sorry, if you PC has been fully rebuilt and you have tried all the troubleshooting steps then i would like you to contact us at (866-543-5435)
We need to get you to the next level of support which is our experts and they will assist you. We have exceeded all our steps Please contact us in regards to Your issue.
So now I am expected to call the US from Australia to attempt resolution of a problem which is not of my own creation! Well that's about it with this. I can't afford to spend money on phone calls to the US on top of what I've paid for DLC that I can't use. Get a sense that I'm a bit miffed to put it mildly.

Day 11. Still no connection, and nothing from EA's end.
About to just uninstall and wipe myself clean of EA/Bioware.

you know, i havent played my game in months now due to the bitter aftertaste the ending left in me, despite having bought the collectors edition at first. the extended cut didnt do much for me either unfortunately, so i let it be for the time being.
now today i thought, maybe i should give it another shot, afterall ive had some distance from all the ending crap, and maybe i should try it one more time before sending it off for good and saying my goodbyes to bioware gaming all together.
well, so much for that plan. guess im not buying ea anymore
EDIT: seems server is back up, nvm

Guys I got it to work!
I had this problem just when I got home today, and though it's apparently a problem at EA's end, I'm now able to get in after resetting my router. I suspect it's their server's problem with recognising IP and such?

the interessting thing is, that i'm also not able to connect to the EA Server over the WLAN on my Laptop. But if i use the cable like on my Desktop PC... and look no Problems to get a connection. The WLAN-Card on the Laptop is not broken or anything cause SWTOR and all other Programms with Internetfunction still runs over WLAN.
And I'm not alone. A Friend of mine has the same issue. when he used the LAN-cable... no problem to connect.
This is gonna ****** me off.... just fix it EA/Ware!!!

Same problem, tried all mentioned fixes from all across the forums with no results. The one time I was able to connect for a little bit was when I was over a friend's house and he didn't have to chance his router around or anything. I just connected no problem so your guess is as good as mine.

if its working when you were at a mates internet then the chances are its down to your router/pc
try resetting your router to manufactureres default settings (unplug it from your phone line first) then re enter your account info (not required if its an isp provided machine)
run a clean boot in windows as well (admin tools/system configuration/services tab/ make sure all the boxes are checked, now tick hide all microsoft services, uncheck all the boxes, click apply, click ok)
now try running origin and me3
if it works then you know the problem is either a conflicting service or an incompatable networking setting.
if it doesnt work, make sure upnp is enables on the router and on the pc(s) on the home network (with upnp you dont require port forwarding) and NAT is disabled.
then reboot and try again
99% of the problems people are suffering are down to conflicting network settings or conflicting drivers (personally i found a dodgy logitch mouse driver causes all kinds of problems)
