I dont recall one that had such unanimous hate, and was so flawed that you couldnt ignore the evidence, if so, please state so below, without spoilers.

Final Fantasy 14? They had to remake the whole game just about.

Lots of people are hating Resident Evil 6 right now too. (even though I like it)

The Star Wars prequels were close to how bad ME3's ending was (and even still is), both in how bad they were and the outrage of the fan community.

The Spiderman comic One More Day was, I think, perhaps an even greater travesty and produced an even greater anger in its audience than Mass Effect 3's ending. Not greater by much on either account, though.

Can't immediately think of anything else comparable. Well, Avatar: The Last Airbender's movie, maybe, but that's hard to gauge, as even a general audience who knew nothing of the cartoon were rightly appalled by that disaster.  Same with Joel Schumacher's Batman and Robin, of course.

FF14 seems like an interesting case. It was a game that wasnt released when it was ready, and the devs actually decided to redo the whole thing, free of charge to older players.

Thats actually pretty awesome, though i never played any FF games, its still hunble of them to admit their mistakes.

RE6 seems to be because of player expectations, but some love it, and i dont think its anywhere as bad as ME3

AHhhhh THE LAST AIRBENDER

yes thats close to what ME3 was. Though it was consistently bad, whereas ME3 just dropped the ball in 30 minutes, and had a bad plot( the crucible is still a joke)

I disagree about the star wars prequels. At least they got better, and episode 3 was actually good, (IMO)

RE6 wasn't as bad by far, I was just thinking of game examples.

Yeah, you gotta hand it to square. They fessed up and fixed it. Hmm....

...Okay, yeah, I apologize.  That one still hurts me, even, and I don't even read comics.

As others have mentioned, the Star Wars prequel trilogy, One More Day. ME3 doesn't even come close to those two.

Resident Evil is pretty horrible in general, in comparison to Mass Effect.

Edit: Who cares about grammar, anyway?

If you want to talk personal disasters, the Green Lantern movie made me want to punch kittens in the face.

I'm a huuuge green lantern fan, and that movie was so bad I literally took a walk after seeing it to contain my thoughts.

Again, all of those were consistently bad, and never really dropped the ball like ME3 did. Also, some people really enjoy the games because of their own merits.

maybe, maybe not. though i think it would be safe to say the ME3 is the one more day of video games. if not the same level of bad it s still the top of the bad heap.

If Mass Effect 3 was the worst game you've ever played then I'm genuinely jealous of your ability to strategically dodge other games that are downright terrible.

Nothing says drop the ball than a game that took 12 years to make and ended up being a travesty from start to finish, unlike ME3 which was only focused on the last 20 minutes but had redemption with the EC

There was no redemption AT ALL for DNF

I'm not sure I'd call it a "disaster" since no one actually died, but I'd go so far as to call it a tremendous disappointment. Or possibly a failure.

Some people compare it to the end of Evangelion, though I couldn't stand to watch Evangelion, so I can't comment on that.

What about the Matrix sequels?

I remember waiting in line and over hearing two guys talking.
"What if it sucks?"
"It can't suck, its the Matrix dude!"

... then we saw the movie :o

What is One more Day?

Also, the star wars movies were bad, but like i said, at least they improved, and Lucas didnt blatantly lie to us and give us false promises.

Well, i still had some enjoyment from DNF. Mainly because i got it for 5 bucks, and i wasnt someone who waited for 12 years. It was goofy fun, and didnt take itself seriously. Not a great game, but it never really set itself up to be.

ME3 though just felt so lazy in its writing, the ending seems like it was made to hate.

In Video Games, Yes

Compared to other events in media this is trivial, hell it all pretty much died when The EC came out.

One more day is when Spider-Man makes a deal with the devil (literally) to save his aunt's life.
