But on topic: It was bad, but there's the Star Wars prequels, the Matrix sequels, the Pirates of the Carribean sequels, Indiana Jones 4 and the list goes on.

Interestingly enough, though, not many people have commented with video games, neither have I... But I'm sure a quick Google search could bring up many bad examples.

Well besides ME3's endings, there's Final Fantasy XIV. SquareEnix released a broken MMO which went Free-To-Play weeks after release to appease some of the more loyal disgruntle fans. Then they decided just remake the game from the ground up, calling it FFXIV~Realm Reborn~, which fixes EVERYTHING that was wrong with the oringinal game.

The other thing would be Naruto Shippuuden--"The Invasion of Pain" arc (ch 403-449/ep152-175)

This might have been alot worse than the ME3 ending debacle, more or less EVERYBODY dies in this arc,  which pissed off ALOT of Naruto fans. Besides the usual hate mail, the series creator Masashi Kishimoto (and few of his associates) got death threats, people threw stuff at them and spit on them whenever they were spotted in public, and I think there were few bomb threats. They were literally the most hated people in Japan at the time. That sh** was crazy.

A few weeks later their deaths were pretty much retconned, after Naruto defeated Pain, everybody was *magically* ressurected.

I LOVED the fact that everyone was dying. Pein was the leader of Akatsuki for christ sake. And the series had been turning to **** since Sasuke came back.

When Pein just up and revived everyone it was ridiculous. I quit the series after that.

FF13 ending was acually good then FF13-2 said that FF13 ending never happened and FF13-2 ending similar to ME3(bad) then there was eventually a paid DLC that" explained/clarified the ending"  that pretty much said get ready for FF13-3 . Square sure knows how to **** with their fanbase

Pein was never the leader of the Akatsuki(the Bijuu-hunting one, not the liberate Rain Village one), Obito Uchiha is. Well, techniocally Madara Uchiha is now since he's been brought back to life but Obito was the mastermind behind the Akatsuki and is basically Madara's apprentice.

Like I said, I quit the series right after Pein Deus Ex machina revived everyone so I don't know what BS they've pulled off since.

Yeap, there are some horrible examples of games, but when someone like only certain genre or kind of games, he would never know them.

For example I'm big fan of german RPG series Gothic, more popular in Europe then in US, and changes in gameplay or story in ME series are nothing against travesty of Arcania: Gothic 4. Just few examples:

Completely open world, where only limitation is strong creatures in some areas, turned to dozen small sectors with leveling creatures.
Factions with their own quests completely erased.
Companions erased.
Guards reacting on lockpicking erased.
Crafting animation (you really forged your swords in few steps here) erased and turned to button in menu.
About 30 abilities and 50 spells in G3 turned in 5 bars and three spells in G4.
Quests with different solution (Enter Korinis have incredible 5 different solution + 1 secret with extra XP) turned to simple fetch/killed quests.
 
And more dozens smaller problems...

etc etc etc


Anyone who calls a poor ending a "disaster" really needs to get out and see the World.

It is just a game, and if you take it seriously enough to call it a "Disaster", you may need a little help.

To be fair, the big "To be continued" that occurs before the credits said that first.
