Quit whining all you negative haters, you're ruining these forums.

I wouldn't call them entitled.

More like pseudo liara haters who are really just butt hurt that their romance didn't get more attention.

Ad hominems don't negate that shockingly some people don't like Liara.  If anything you're upset people have a *GASP* different opinion.

ON A PUBLIC FORUM?!? HOW OUTRAGEOUS AMIRITE?

Anybody who dislikes Liara lacks taste and as such should stay silent!

No. If anything, Liara fans need to realise that not everyone likes Liara.

Most of us do. The few ruin it for the many.

You do Liara a disservice.

I only question opinion as well as zeal when they don't match up with real numbers.

I think ME's team lost a little the balance between giving you freedom and auto-dialogue. The latter is not bad by itself, for the most time it's ok. But there are key points where ME3 feels like it's restraining your Shepard from being your own.

Well, gee...how long did it take you to figure that out?

I liked and romanced Liara in ME1. I also wanted to be faithful to her in 2, as I enjoyed the LoTS romance sub-plot.

But I really dislike her in ME3. She's supposed to be Shadowbroker, a really shady characters who, want it or not, has to handle matters of life&death on daily basis as she needs to remove any traces of her existence. Instead, she still acts like a little scared doctor in tough moments (Thessia) while trying to be cold&mature in normal conversations. It's really annoying.
I feel like she lost chemistry. Wished I romanced Tali.

Who would've thought, someone is distraught to find their whole world being destroyed, and that their government and mother were lying to them.

It's almost like good writting or something.

Liara is probably just surprised that the asari suddenly have a government ^_^

Because according to the codex...

The asari have no politicians or elections, but a free-wheeling, all-inclusive legislature that citizens can participate in at will. Policy debates take place at all hours of the day, in official chat rooms and forums moderated by specially-programmed virtual intelligences. All aspects of policy are open to plebiscite at any time.

Liara's whole breakdown about Thessia, while somewhat annoying, was understandable. She is the only person on the Normandy who isn't military. Well, Tali isn't exactly military but she didn't grow up on a home planet. What irritated me more was her whole freakout about the Banshees. We've been fighting reaperized humans since ME1 and Banshees are upsetting? What the crap is that? Way to show some compassion for having to kill dozens if not hundreds of former humans throughout 3 games. There are what, maybe a dozen or so Banshees throughout the story line? And somehow that is more upsetting!?

No, I wouldn't consider that unfair.

A real injustice would be imprudent screentime for elements that don't hit their maximum target market just for the sake of being fair.

Of course you wouldn't, the character that you're a fan of is getting the majority of the alloted screentime. Which was my point.

Regardless, with how unsubstantial Liara's role really is (and how little she actually does in the game), she has far too much screentime.

Out of all the squadmates, she was the most important one.
Why give her time to someone inferior?

Aside from Mac Walters' say-so, exactly what makes her the most important?

That's actually a fair point, especially with Joker.

Paragon response: THIS ISN'T THE TIME FOR JOKES! (but I could never leave the best pilot behind)
Renegade response: THIS ISN'T THE TIME FOR JOKES!

Bipolar Shepard is bipolar?

Hey, they had to squeeze in the conversation about Tiptree somehow. If Shepard had said "Ha, funny" it never would have come up.

Garrus is a permanent squadmate in all three Mass Effect games from beginning to end, and he adds nothing at all to the story. He's Shepards canon buddy, that's it.

In ME2, only Mordin is directly related to the story.

Garrus and Liara are the most popular characters in the franchise (at least according to the largest surveys/polls), that's why they got more screentime than everyone else.

I know. I've expressed my distaste for this too.

In ME2, only Mordin is directly related to the story.

All Mordin does in regards to the Collectors is find the countermeasure to the Seeker swarms. I don't see where or why people are comparing the story to the main antagonist, as if they are the same thing. Cerberus is just as big in ME2 as the Collectors (arguably more so with their status as an entity), and Miranda was the highest-ranking person in Cerberus right behind the Illusive Man. ME2 isn't a good exmaple anyway, seeing how it's more a collection of subplots and side stories than a focused overarching narrative.

Garrus and Liara are the most popular characters in the franchise (at least according to the largest surveys/polls), that's why they got more screentime than everyone else.

Yes, I know. That doesn't make the reasoning any less sh*tty.

I thought the dialogue with EDI was even worse. If I didn't wan to talk to her, I wouldn't have pressed the damn A button. :pinched:

EDI - Hello Shepard
Shepard - I'm not in the mood -_-
EDI - Then why did you click on me?

Nothing really.

She was just there from the beginning and is one of the main reasons Shepard  was able to even get the chance to stop Sovereign.
And she's blue, young and a prothean expert, need I say more?
