Liara in Thessia is really annoying.

Yeah, because they knew that the prothean cipher would activate a hidden VI in their artifact. Right. EDI flat out tells you that revealing the beacon earlier wouldn't have changed a thing...

You can keep arguing all you want. There's no reason the dialog option should not have been there to be confrontational about this revalation, instead of apologizing for something they did.

I don't know. I feel sort of satisfied about it not being there to spite you. Is it wrong? Maybe, but your positions aren't endearing.

Gee, thanks. <_<

Ever stop to think that maybe some of this anti-Asari sentiment stems from the fact that we're so clearly SUPPOSED to like them? People don't like having "their" opinion spoon-fed to them. There'd be a lot less animosity towards, say, Liara were it not for the plot armor. Put everyone on equal footing and the complaints go away.

A lot of it strikes me as stemming from more unsavory IRL prejudices, honestly.

Really? So what was lucky or coincidental about it?

They contacted Shepard because Thessia was a war zone. I doubt Shepard examined every known prothean artifact in council space because she could activate some hidden VI. Shepard would have never caught sight of the thessian beacon if the asari would have revealed it earlier -> lucky and coincidental

I've told you, my beef is with the actions of their government. If you want to believe it's racial, I doubt there's much I could do to convince you otherwise. As an opponent of Barack Obama's policies IRL, I know what I'm talking about. I've seen it before, and it's not worth the energy to try to explain it.

There's nothing lucky or coincidental about any of that, except for what the beacon contained, which was just mildly lucky.

Then why is that one beacon so important? The Asari knew its importance and still kept it hidden.  Had it just been a standard Prothean artifact no one would care about it.  It is kept hidden because the Asari are selfish

. Sadly any sort of dissent in America is quickly politicized, I'm a left leaning person but apparantly that makes me a communist(not true) atheist(well that part is true) who wants to watch America burn.  Reasonal political discourse seems to be a thing of the past.

Of course it wasn't right to hide the beacon. But we're arguing that...

- revealing the beacon wouldn't have changed a thing because we couldn't activate it (this is addressed multiple times in the game)
- It wasn't Councilor Tevos or Liara's decision to hide the beacon, and it would be stupid to blame them

And ME3 seems to want to do it's best to undermine the Asari for no good reason. It is beyond me how some people see any asari favoritism in the game.

The Asari should have told about the beacon as soon as the war started.
.
But no worries, after the war there will be a reckoning.

Of course it would, especially if you have Javik with you. The Asari knew the beacon could help but choose to withhold the information untill they thought there would be no way out.

You can't call the Asari out on their actions because Shepard doesn't know/meet the responsible matriarchs. And you are not forced to feel sorry for Liara, you are not even forced to visit her after the mission.

. Auto-dialogue in Thessia begs to differ.  Nowhere do you get the option to tell her to grow a pair and suck it up or go back to the ship.  And the Asari councilor knew about the beacon before telling Shepard, could have saved us some time

Does Shepard lose the Cipher at any point?

No, so this is blatantly wrong.

I don't blame Liara about holding information about the beacon. She isn't any high ranking Asari official or anything.
.
I blame her for being the fraking Shadow Broker and not know it.

No one knows about it except the asari goverment, which is very secret, not even the old Shadow Broker knew about it, and his use of the network was far diffrent then Liara(Liara using the network to help the war and the cruible, the old SB selling information that could change the game.) When both Shadow Brokers don't know about it, you can't really blame one person.
