I take it none of you have ever seen Neon Genesis Evangelion? It also got some sort of 'EC' in the form of an hour-and-a-half long movie. I watched the whole thing a few months after I first finished ME3, and I can tell you it offered some perspective on the ME3 endings.

I suppose I understand their disappointment, years of following a series only to get confusion/lack of closure.
For me, the Reapers have been destroyed, I'm alive (admittedly in rubble, but still) and I think the reunion that lots of people are craving will probably come at the start of the ME4 (assuming there is a sequel).
If not, I'm happy to headcanon the rest.

And yes, "vocal minority".  Not so sure on that one.

Anyways, let's keep this forum for mulitplayer and not make yet more threads complaining about complainers.

The official poll ranked 90% satisfaction with the EC among BSNers.
And this isn't counting the ME fans who aren't BSNers.

Well I personally disliked the original endings so much that... Well I've bought the dlc's and started new games but just... Left it there...

EDIT and PS: As the guy below me says... Me3 is an amazing sp game except for the last half hour (or was).

PPS: And obviously I found the mp surprisingly good.

Came to Mass Effect way back when my bro got me the PC version as a Christmas present. So I play for the single-player.
Can't say I thought the original ME3 ending they gave us was enough, but EC made it a complete game and I was happy. Still, stayed for the multiplayer. Which, though I was skeptical when it was announced, has turned out to be a fantastic, well-supported addition.

Discussing the story for ME2 was great because there was lots of speculation on the future of Mass Effect. Now I just can't bring myself to post there because all I find when I do look is fans moaning that they've been betrayed somehow by the BioWare devs or EA. Mass Effect 3 had so many incredible moments; It's a beautiful, lovingly-crafted game. It's just a shame everything gets overshadowed by the last half hour.

Multiplayer is a separate entity, albeit one that has an unfortunate effect on the SP game (love the idea of promoting characters for war assets; still dislike the pointless galactic readiness system). Thankfully it's more than enough reason to come back to Mass Effect if for whatever reason you're done with singleplayer. Now hopefully this isn't going off-topic.

Despised the endings. EC was a bandaid placed caringly atop a sucking chest wound.

I would have been satisfied if SP ended at the "great view" dialog.

Been enjoying MP since I started it during a second (and final) SP playthrough. I do not ever intend to replay SP, but MP saved the value of the game for me (if not the franchise as a whole).

These types of polls are notoriously skewed by self-selection bias, so they are entirely representative.  We'll never really know for sure.  But that is interesting so many voted that they liked the EC.

The ending was pretty damn bad, it's not supriseing that as new people get the game, play then finish it that they come on the internet to vent their spleen.

The MP, on the other hand, absolutely saved the whole experience to me. I've been playing it for months on end, and will continue playing for months more, I think. Singleplayer can go rot now, for all I care, and I've initially bought the game for the singleplayer.

The original ending really sucked IMO, but nothings perfect and I've moved on since then. I really should play the story over and check out the EC (haven't seen it yet). Only the time I should spend on single player gets used up by either playing multiplayer or Dark Souls. So I just keep postponing myself from finishing the game again.

Nice and cozy there's also a bit less negativity around here than other boards.

Ah yes the end of Evangelion.
My reaction to that: I have no clue what just happened BUT DAMN THAT WAS BLOODY AWESOME!! This series needs more Rei anyway!
I actually like Shinjis take on the ending of the anime series.

I understand the problem.
The raoli are the ones to find Liara's data caches in Refuse, not the Reapers.
The next cycle then uses the Crucible to win. They shouldn't have a chance. Everyone should pay for the player's arrogance/ignorance.
