I understand combinations, but recycled stuff doesn't really interest me. Old power combos maybe good, but we already played them.

And as for a Shaman - he's a crappier version of both Human Adept and Human Sentinel in both BE potential and tankiness.

But Flamer/Fortification is new, and Fortification/Hunter Mode is new, and Flamer/Hunter Mode is new.

He's more durable than the Human Sentinel (although I admit I prefer Warp > Throw to Warp > Shockwave)--but again, trading Singularity for Barrier drastically changes the way a class functions just like trading Stasis for Tech Armor.

This is basically: flamer + more defence; more defence + less shields and more damage; flamer + more damage.

VERY entertaining!

The combos are new, not the powers. It's not Anhilation Field, it's not Recon Mine it's not Havoc Strike. And ALL of the 3 powers are old. 

Why can't they put in Dominate? Defense Matrix? Slam? New type of Grenade? 

I rather have 6 new or partially new (1 unique power) classes than 12 recycled ones.

I've really been anticipating a geth soldier, expecting something novel, something that broke the mold like the N7 kits did. I was hoping for an energy version of multi-frag grenades with a retooled-for-MP defense matrix, all on a shiny pyro-based chassis. I'm not getting anything I was hoping for. I'll try it out, but I fear it'll just seem like a mix of more of the same with a new coat of paint. I know people will use it, and make it a beast of their own, but I was hoping for more from this kit.

The thing I don't like about this is that he will be essentially a better Vorcha Soldier. Why would anyone use a Vorcha Soldier if you can use this guy. I doubt many people will care about Health regen when you can have a Geth that has Hunter mode, damage reduction, and an "overpowered" anti-armor attack. My guess is we see a lot of 6/6/6/0/6 and 6/6/6/4/4 builds

If Fortification is left unchanged, then even with HM active, if you have Fortification active as well, a possible 40% reduction in damage is enough to make this class sufficiently more survivable, along with all the bonuses to attack damage and x-ray vision that HM offer. This class will be a very strong class. I just have a feeling I won't really care too much for the Vorcha Soldier anymore. I'm not sure I'll care for the Sentinel either. On the other hand... the new Vorcha Hunter Engineer looks pretty nice...

How many people spec into Carnage? Not many. Perhaps more now that it can help set up tech bursts, but it's recharge speed can be so slow sometimes. Most people spec for the Health bonus in Bloodlust, which means most would also go full health in Fitness, since the Vorcha has pitiful shields. Carnage is almost always sacrificed, at least for how I play him currently. Unless I want 3 ranks of it.

I'm personally looking forward to it. The sheer amount of build possibilities, depending on which of the three skills you omit, if any, has me dying to get my hands on the class.

But Soldier is my favorite class to play anyway, so I guess it doesn't take much to please me at this point.

And fortification doesn't add any "armor" for you too...

Vorcha obsolete? My question is why does it matter what everyone else decides to play. It seems people focus too much on what others are doing. Play the game how you want with the classes you like. I don't care what class joins my game as long as they can hold their own.

If you hate the class so much then don't play it. I know I'll definitely try out both the super defence, only use heavy guns mode, and megaflamer, just to see what fits me more. I actually like the skillsets. Though I can admit that no new powers is a bit dissapointing.

the soldier could have been really sweet, instead it has 2 useless abilities. Imagine if fortification was a damage boosting ability that many of the soldier classes get, the get soldier would be great.

The rest of the kits, excluding new turains and volus, are simply refurbished characters. I can bet that it took at most 1 day (probably even less) to create them. Already existing model + already existing powers. No work to be done here absolutely.

perma health regen?

Far superior than the ~600 shields you'll be getting with HM and some lousy 30% dmg reduction.

Whoever thinks the Geth will take any more than 2 shots on Gold is in for a very nasty surprise.

It won't be "spectacular" flamer. Unlike the engineer or the infiltrator it has no on demand shield restore, no way to get out of sight.

He is the worst of both worlds with a DD ability that requires him to stay out of cover, get close in a direct line of sight to burn people. It will need heavy support from other characters.

What's with all the complaining? We don't even know whether or not his perks will be exactly the same.
Same goes for his health and shield stats.

Have you ever actually played the game?

If yes, what exactly do you think hunter mode is, if not a damage boosting ability?  Unlike all the other damage boosting abilities soldiers get, hunter mode is always on.  You might not get as big a damage boosting spike out of it but you don't have to deal with trivialities like wondering if there are enemies around the corner, or actually going around the corner to shoot them when you can just unload on them through the wall... nor do you have to deal with it being unavailable due to cooldowns.

30% Power damage bonus while fortification is active? 30% more powerful flamer, plus another 17.5% from Hunter Mode? What's not to love? This guy is gonna be one badass mf.

Flamer dps is just meh, even a level I harrier + barrel will out dps that, if it was usable from 30m distance I could accept that, but a power that endangers you so much for a 900dps (for 5 seconds) is just pathetic without the vorcha's bloodlust.

Much better just skip that, max fortification for DR and shield and bring a big gun (like in the pic).
Besides this character will have 40% shield recharge speed, really huge.
