I think it will be their socks. Others may say they wear special shoes or even possibly exotic support undergarments such as corsets. Perhaps there are lyrium infused Spanx.

It's obvious that since so many live in towers with lots of stairs they need some form of support.

What say you?

I do recall a fascinating treatise by one mage that theorized socks are merely emanations of some Fade spirit projected into the waking world and recalled at the whim of the spirit.

I'm not sure if that's relevant to the discussion. I just felt like mentioning it.

A true mage after passing the mage test will flow of the ground so no shoes are necessary.
Beginner mages still have to wear shoes until they become real mages.
