I'd like to remove the patch without having to reinstall the whole game, is there a way to do it?

There's no simple method; also if you reinstalled the game and launched it with online enabled, it will attempt to update itself with the latest patch: so you would be back where you started....

Exact instructions would depend on your platform. Also sometimes its the Origin app thats the problem!

I am on Windows Vista 32. I could turn off the updates from Origin, that's not a problem. The point is, I found two folders pertaining to the patch but simply removing them prevents the game from starting altogether, so I'm guessing there's some other file that has been updated. If I reinstall the game and do what I wish to do, to reapply the patch I probably would have to download it again, which is definitely too much trouble (took me hours to download it once, I do not wish to repeat the experience).

i believe the latest patch updated a whole bunch of stuff and the folders it created were simply the referance material for the new items /maps it introduced,

you could try useing the repair install/update feature in origin for al lthe dlc's /main game to see if the particular thing your trying to fix will repair itself but if your trying to undo some bug or other the game introduced for mp i think you wont be having much luck tbh

...yes its a huge patch (as big as190MB? for a total update, usually ~40MB for incremental). But do try (the origins app) the repair install

Open Origins, go to My Games, then right-click on the Mass Effect 3 Icon. A menu appears with the repair install option...

If I remove 1.04 patch, the new MP DLC won't start :-(

Thank you for your suggestions, unfortunately it's not something that can be solved with a repair install. I am experiencing lag (not noticeable until I die and the body slides backwards) in every single game I'm not hosting and I wanted to ascertain whether it's my connection's fault or something introduced by the patch. Since I always verify my speed before playing and it didn't happen before, I wanted to play a few rounds with and without the patch to finally know what is going on.

@Lucas1987Dion, yes the Retaliation DLC won't work without the patch; did you manage to remove it?

@bluebeam, not yet sorry :-(
But I have copy of MassEffect3.exe and some other files from version 1.03, so I can play ME3 on 1.03 version, but for MP I need 1.04 game version...
