It gives you some upgrades, so I'd do it before the suicide mission.
It makes use of the Hammerhead, so I'd play the Firewalker missions first (or at least the first mission) so there's a logical in-game reason for me to have the Hammerhead on-board.
If you bring Legion along there's one line of dialogue that changes near the beginning; so if that matters to you, do it after you've recruited him/her/them/it.

well i thought the collector ship was scarey but very good , im a prothean fan anyone know were to find prothean tech,artifacts pre mission ?
