Collectors are fine as they are, they are the only good challenge in this game.

I am only speaking for myself, personally I am glad we have one faction that is harder than the rest without the cheap Geth tricks, I find Collectors seem to be a smarter enemy vs the other three, just the way they take cover entertains me:)

There is no question they are tough to solo on Bronze but the way I look at it, it's part of the getting better game, choosing the right character. They were part of my Bronze solo and what worked best for me was the QFE.

Then you won't mind a boost to credits and XP for fighting them. It's that simple. Challenge added for no added reward isn't very appealing to me.

I would support a small nerf for Bronze and Silver, mainly to stop people from b*tching about them but they should not be touched on Gold+. The fact that they have an answer for almost every strategy and require 100% tactical awareness is what makes them legitimately hard and not stunlocking/cheap hard. In all honesty though, a Ghost should have zero issues against them, especially on Bronze.

I am probably in the minority
1. Geth- easiest by far, NO SYNC KILLS, never a problem for me
2. Collectors- next easiest, once you've played them a few times they are not bad
3. Cerberus- I have the worst luck w/phantoms hiding around corners and sync killing me
4. Reapers- toughest, the Banshee wailing always seems to distract me

what dificulty are you referring to and what maps and such do you usually play?

gold, all maps
I am usually an Infiltrator: Turian, Salarian, or Quarian Male

I am an above average player, but far from an elitist
solo'd my 1st golds the last 2 days: Geth on White- surprisingly easy
easily solo'd silver vs collectors, on gold I was in the hack (wave 10 almost done hacking) running backwards from an abomination and got my head eaten by a Praetorian that came out of nowhere, I still had almost all of my
consumables left:(

The challenge might have been added purely for...a challenge.

The guy has solo'd gold or plat given by what he's posting. The sync kill is more of a bad luck thing imo, but the scion shield strip on bronze is pretty ridiculous.

If you want more credits then go to a harder difficulty.

Collectors are fine as they are because they are not cheap, they have variety and makes the game more funny, but if someone thinks that they are too hard then it should lower the difficulty or simply don't play against them.

The only changes I would want would be a slower travel speed for the scion cannon so that you can actually dodge it reliably if you are focused on the scion but will still get hit if you ignore it. The Praetorian needs to have its melee slowed so that it can't stab you every tenth of a second. Also, they sync kill you before you fully get up from gelling, having to land a melee hit before sync killing would also be reasonable.

Has anyone else taken 2 mags or more from a typhoon to take down a scion? Wondering if that's just me.

Collectors do have crazy damage it has to be said. But at least they dont have crazy damage plus mass stunlock which is what the geth have.

I already tried soloing the Collectors. Got on Wave 1 HAHAHAHAH; Anyway I agree with ya. There's nothing, absolutely NOTHING on Bronze VS Collectors. Bronze VS Collectors are Silver matches.

Just off-topic a moment: Imagine if in only a match (NOT PLATINUM) appears on the Same wave

5 Phantons+ 3 Scions+ 4 Banshees+ 1 Brute+ 2 Praetorians+ 3 Cannibals+ 10 Marauders+ 1 Atlas+ 4 Geth Pyros+3 Geth Hunters+ 2 Geth Primes? IN THE SAME WAVE!

How exactly does one lower the difficulty from Bronze?

Bottom line: it's the scion cannon that needs nerfing. Not the entire faction. Neverending scions in wave 10 or 11 on Bronze can wipe an entire squad in seconds, given that everything else is gunning for you as well. Not to mention trying to solo that ****.

This^ Scion's cannons are absurdly powerful and pretty much completely negate high durability characters. Nothing else can put down Tank specced Destroyers and Kroguards on Bronze, full Atlas and Prime barrages are lucky to get through the shields of these characters on Bronze but the Scion just laughs at that and puts them to healthgate then finishes them with the last shot of the volley.

Collectors are great in their current state. They are supposed to be the hardest faction and they do it without being cheap like the Geth.

I'm fine with them being tough SOBs since I usually play gold and like to have to fight for it, but I recently did some bronze solos and they are definitely over the top on bronze compared to the other factions.

I'm not advocating any buffs or nerfs in particular, but I do believe the difficulty levels of the four factions needs to be brought in line with each other.

Have you played Collectors on Bronze?  There's nothing "Bronze" about it.

Seriously. They're the only faction where killing one of the big bastards (Praetorians) doesn't guarantee that another one won't respawn on objective waves. I still didn't have too much trouble with them, but I do think the Praetorian and Scion's long range stuff needs to be toned down just a bit.

EDIT:: Just to be clear, I'm not advocating a decrease in Gold. When U/U/G gives me Collectors, I think "Oh ****, this is gonna be rough," which is awesome. I hate the sneaky Praetorians coming up behind me, because they make almost no sound. Nothing that big should be that sneaky! But if I die, I do feel like I did something wrong, generally. They're very punishing, but very exhillerating to fight.

Conversely, when Geth come up, I'm just mad and annoyed. I hate that I'll have to spend 20-30 minutes dealing with them, because I know that ultimately, after getting stunlocked too many times, I'll get the hint and start camping, since it is unambiguously the easiest way to fight them. They're easily beatable, but they're cheap, and the way to beat them easily is distinctly unfun.

I just had the weirdest game against the collectors on silver... Ok new people as far as I could tell and I was pretty crappy as well. It was a wee bit laggy. Far from unplayable and I've left games that were worse in that department.

Everybody dropped like flies... Constantly. At one point I had 3 or 4 bars of health and no shields and a trooper killed me instantly. Not with the flop flop under fire sound just instant death. A geth sniper took a bit of trooper fire. Saw him hit by one scion burst and down he went.

I had just come from another silver collector game. Where we had to rez twice during the entire
game.

If lag makes for that big a difference? We need some kind of decent ingame thingy majik to determine if the host is viable.

I don't think you see the point, RedJohn...

I don't want more credits and neither do I want rid of Collectors. I want them to feel more like the other three factions in terms of difficulty. I think they're a fun faction until the Scions and Praetorians show up but once they show up, the Silver game turns into a Gold and i'm constantly 1 health bar and running for my life.

Collectors are surpisingly tough compaired to the other factions. Rather than Nerf them, give them a small xp bonus like the hazard maps and a small credit bonus.

It's not the collectors themselves that require nerfing, it is their support.

abomanations are ninja bombs, scions have cannons that would make harbinger jealous, and praetorians are alot harder to get away from now.
