Double check that there aren't any numbers masquerading as letters and vice versa. With the font they use I can never tell if its an 8 or B, or a 5 or S.

Well, I need to REGISTER the game first with bioware, so I'm using the game key at the Bioware web site. I've tried dashes - no dashes, caps - no caps, and all possible variations of 0 = o etc and it keeps saying the same thing - code not valid for game.

the key from the back of the instructions is the key you need to register but the keys on the pages separate from the instructions are the DLC codes.

you dont need to register the game for DLC. you only have to associate the DLC with your EA/Bioware account.

but you should be able to register the game as well. where did you buy the game from?

I am having this same issue as well. However, I bought the game through Steam (They had it at a nice price for the holidays) and I was given two CD keys for the game, a Standard CD Key and a Standard Game CD Key.

I wanted to download the Dragon Age: Origins Toolset (where you can build your own dungeons, stories, etc) and to do that I needed to register my game first. The system doesn't recognize either of my keys and I am wondering if it's just a glitch or I am simply doing something wrong.

This is where I went to register my game: http://social.biowar...page/da-toolset (click on the blue Register Games button near the bottom)

I can't see from the toolset page whether its register link is taking you to the right place (having already registered myself its not displaying a link for me.)

But the page you want to go to register your game is http://social.biowar...es_register.php

Yeah, that's where the toolset redirect took me and when I entered my CD key originally it denied it. However, I just tried it again (without changing any of the letters/numbers) it accepted it. So, I'm good to go now. Thanks anyway.

Same problem

I got the retail version but there's no way of actualy entering it, only for the downloadable version.

Or did I miss something? Don't get it.

You enter register all versions at the http://social.biowar...es_register.php link. The PC retail registeration code is on the back of the manual.

There may be more explicit instructions for the downloadable versions because people have had more problems with them, but all PC versions are registered on the same page.

Okay. I finally was able to register the game - Thanks all. Now I guess my biggest confusion is that I would like to do the optional "premium" quests, but I'm not sure what to do. They say "downloadable" but I don't see a code to download them. Am I missing something? Thanks again.

If you bought a physical copy there should be a card in the box with Shale on one side and the Blood Dragon armor on the other. Each side would have a code that needs to be entered on the http://social.biowar...redeem_code.php page.

If you have a Digital copy you would have also gotten a separate code when you bought it that also needs to be entered on the redeem code page to get the free downloadable content (Shale and the Blood Dragon Armor)

Any other premium content isn't free, and you have to buy points for it, and then purchase in the game.

Everybody is doing it. What used to be content patches and free are now just quickly made modules that are sold on to keep revenue turning over whilst an expansion is rolled out every 6-12 months. Which keeps your addicts  customers hanging on long enough for you to make "new and improved, version 2 game"

I will be amused to read the posts about Return to Ostagar when people realise it's all over in an hour and you get an armour set and 2 weapons for your trouble.

Sadly, people are dumb enough to fall for this crap. Any Bioware or other developers that may monitor this board should take note that  some of us aren't stupid enough to fall for your rip offs.  I fell for it with the NWN2 expansion packs. MOB wasn't bad except for the "Soul Eater" rot, but Storm of Zehir was just plain crap.  I and many others will be Very wary of any future expansion packs for Dragon Age and I certainly own't be paying for "downloadable content.    Enough rip offs, thanks.
