I swear She said "Why don't I get you a ladder so you can get off my back" like a million times. That and she was always screaming and saying "Alright Alright" or "THIS IS A MASSACRE AND NO ONE IS GETTING OUT ALIVE!" I wanted to just kill her. I think I may tell Morrigan to blow it out her ass and taking the final blow myself. IF Alistair lets me. :P

My boyfriend was ready to kill me she was so annoying.

Change the voice, it's in an XML file in your Bioware dir in My Docs.

How do you change it to another voice?

Open your My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Characters\\ folder and locate the XML file there, open it with notepad.

Search for "SoundSet=" without the quotations, and within the following set of quotations, change the voice type to one of the following:

exp
sultry
violent
wise
cocky
smart

For example, if your file is "ss_pc_fdwarf_violent", you would change "violent" at the end for one of the aforementioned voice types. If you wanted it to be sultry then in the quotations it would read "ss_pc_fdwarf_sultry".

Save the file, quit out. The voice should be changed appropriately.

(I don't believe there is a way to do so for PS3/Xbox)

I couldn't finish the Human Noble origin because the voice drove me up the wall.

I don't recall the "cocky" voice being a choice for female humans though. :\\

Could that be changed as well?

oh god yes, the ladder comment. I deleted that character before finishing the first level of the Tower of Ishal, so annoying. NEVER AGAIN! NEVER!

Just took a look through the available files, there is the "cocky" voice for female humans, aswell as "mystic".

I spent over 2 hours in the character creation screen. I began to notice the "can I get you a ladder..." quote during the Korcari Wilds. When I defeated the Ogre in the Tower of Ishal I gave up and started a new game.
Now I always go for the Experienced voice. Much better imo.

^Sounds like us when I was in Fort Drakon en route to the archdemon fight rofl she said it like 7 times in a row. Each time alistair died we shouted at him that we'd get him a ladder so he can get off his back or some other variation.

That's odd, the cocky option isn't there for female humans in the creator, but it's available in the files? Guess they forgot to put the button in...

That's good to hear.  It wasn't on the list for character creation.

I actually quite liked it. The frustrated quotes also seemed to fit my character the best out of the lot - 'WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO KILL THESE THINGS?!' et al.

Does editing the XML file work for someone? I made the mistake of picking the violent voice, tolerated it until Tower of Ishal... Then tried to edit the file, but for some reason the change doesn't seem to stick. When I load a saved game, that horrible voice is back and from the timestamp of the character file, it looks like the game overrides my changes.

A little backstabbing never hurt anybody.

Time to cloak my naked villainy.

Albeit I haven't had any issues with changing the XML file, you can alternatively use the DAToolset to modify your latest savegame.. Last time I did it was for my character's appearance, but you can also change voices while you're there.

The annoying thing is I GAVE him a ladder - physically smashed it through my screen after the millionth appeal for one....

And now the game doesn't work at all!

Seriously tho - quit the game at Ostagar and started again because of this. It's wierd, because it's one of the phrases he never says when you test the voice - which seems ok during character creation.

Really? After strictly using Wise for several times now, its a welcome, refreshing change...and I think its funny to hear my character say it.

I think if it weren't such a long comment it wouldnt be so distracting. As it is, its long enough to distract you from what you were concentrating on and it interrupts game play. It actually does get annoying after you've played for 2-3 hours and you see that the character 'seems' to say that more often than any other comment. Maybe they need to add 3-4 more comments for clicking on things so it doesnt come up so often?
