Here are a few good ideas. What do you want the cover to look like?

As the above poster said, I'd like them to stick with the red dragon on a white background.

Something that doesn't have Bioware's version of Iconic PC on it.

It should definitely have the blood dragon on it.

The first one is Origins concept art. But I do like the character + enemy thing.

Personally, I'd prefer it if they just used this.

A picture of the Blood Dragon being summoned by a blood mage, towering over a templar. The Blood Dragon would have a picture of all the companions inside of it.
That would be cool as hell.

I understand the reason behind Default MaleShep and Default Hawke (particularly the male Hawke) is because people like to have an "iconic" protagonist on the box. I think it's possible to have an iconic-looking protagonist who's class/gender/ethnicity/etc are vague.

For example, having the DA3 player character in artwork/trailers be someone clad head to toe in armor, or some mix of equipment in which their class might appear indefinite (much like how people were confused over whether trailer Hawke for DA2 was a mage or warrior). Characters like Samus and Master Chief are both fully covered yet some of the most iconic protagonists ever.

I think the strength in going that route would be not only does it provide an iconic propaganda protagonist, but one who doesn't alienate people who are touchy about the fact they prefer custom-made protagonists, and in a way it would also convey the fact that whoever's behind that mask/helm/whatever is who you, the player, makes it - so in a way advertising what the game is partially about.

I really liked the blood dragon and think that's one of the most awesome cover art every made.  Male Hawke, on the other hand, nuh-uh.  I do not relate to him whatsoever (female here who has extreme dislike of beards) and thought the blood smear across the cheek is the most stupidest thing ever.  Even a silhouetted Hawke with unisex hair (that is, ungendered) and champion armor would've been better.  Bit more generic.

Go back to the blood art (so iconic and representative of DA) and maybe throw in a major character/enemy in there.  Lots of epic cover art possibilities that don't include the PC.  Let the protagonist be entirely customizable (don't even have presets).

The third game is about the mage and templar, so I do think they should incorporate it in somehow.

Keep the Blood Moteif consistancy but theme it to Templars vs. Mages as well as the Dragon theme.

If DA3 turned out to be the best game in the world I would still not buy it if Cullen was on the cover.

First one in OP is pretty bad, what does Morrigan and her ogre companion have to do with an Inquisition

Second one just looks like a 30 second photoshop

keep the plain white with blood dragon motif going

Sorry, nope, EA's marketing department will probably have decided the bland 'COD Cover Pic copy and paste' is here to stay, with yet another bland guy walking forward with a serious expression on his face. No background detail whatsoever, check? Complete copy of today's stupid modern trend that EA has applied before (Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2), check? Uninspired and boring, check?

Yep. That's your cover for you.

The blood dragon with Val Royeaux skyline or the outline of an Andraste statue, something indistinct but unique to the Dragon Age verse.

I'd prefer if it just had the logo or an important NPC.

If the male player character has to be put on the front again, it should be a reversible cover for those of us who only play female :P

Are we this starved for information on DA3 that we're already outlining what cover art we want, what next? we start picking out what the devs should wear and what their going to eat for lunch...

Side note, I liked Origins cover art, something along those lines would do.

Please not another generic white male dude walking up to the screen.

I'm tired of this:

The similar motif used on the previous two games has been fine with me, but considering that they are incorporating a new game engine, and for aesthetic purposes I would really like to see Bioware/EA Games shell out some moolah and hire an established fantasy artist to provide the cover for Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. Clyde Caldwell, Larry Elmore, Boris Vallejo, etc. There are plenty to choose from!www.saberfire.com/dragons/archivehigh/146.jpg

And it's still Dragon Age so we needs a blood dragon.
