Def need to bring this sort of stuff back for DA3!!
Imo, it would really help make the combat feel more alive, in DA2 I found it was fairly repetitive without any sort of awesome animations like that.
What do you guys/gals think?

I really enjoyed my warden doing it as well as watching Leliana and Alistair do it

Mages only got finishers in DA:A and DA2 because of the cutscene finishers, which where unique for them.SpEcIaLRyAn wrote...
Warrior does pretty much the same thing as rogue. Mage doesn't have finishers I don't think. I agree though I want finishers back.

They don't, only warriors/rogues did and that's because they had both had duel wield tree. Play as an archer and your character won't do any finishers at all.Only people swining a sword got them, some where cool but alot of them like the ogre where horrible as it broke the flow of combat or got Morrigan/Leli killed because there was no one to keep the mobs of darkspawn from them. This is a big problem at the Battle of the city. I will only support gameplay finishers if they are quick with no slo-mo crap.SpEcIaLRyAn wrote...

Yeah gameplay wise I don't think the mages had finishers. They could do something cool for DA3 though.

i'm not sure how i would feel about bringing it back. for me, it would depend on what the overall combat mechanics on the next game feel like. that being said...
that graphic NEVER got old for me. every time i played DAO (and family) i made sure every character with a sword got at least one good ogre kill in, just because that finisher was sooo much fun to watch.

My characters tend to jump the wrong way when killing the ogre, it looks ridiculous. Dragon killing is better, but I don't think I've seen one properly synced yet. Besides, that means I can't use that character for several seconds :/ If they're going to add them to DA3, I hope it comes with an off-button.

Please no... No No No No. NO! It lost it's charm the first time, after that it became very annoying, more so when there was more then one of the ogres or a bunch of darkspawn went to go stabhappy on Leli or Morrigan because my Warden or Sten was too busing riding a ogre.
Cutscene sure, but not in gameplay. The length and slow mo makes it annoying and really ruins the combat.
I prefered the DA2 cutscene finishers by far.
They don't have time to make everything in the game an option toggle.Eilaras wrote...

This. With an on/off option, everyone will be happy . I loved the kill-animations in origins, and hope they will be back in DA3. The more, the merrier!
